so i just was drawing waves, as i always do in the last few minutes of class before the bell rings, and i finally drew one that satisfied me. so i looked at it and i thought, damn that would be a kick ass tattoo...that being said, i wanted to turn it into a PJ tattoo...it will also be a tribute to my father who passed away in '06 so i'm thinking a Release me quote. that's where you come in. i'm debating between "oh dear dad, can you see me now? i am myself like you somehow" or simply "Release Me" (possibly in Hebrew)

also i'm not sure if i want to keep it black and white (well black and skin) or color it in with blue.

First, I'm sorry to hear about your father. I think you're idea as a tribute to him is really cool (especially with Release as the concept). I have long been trying to decide myself on what to do with my first tattoo (so I can't speak from experience just yet), but only suggestion is that I tend to like the look of color over the life of a tattoo vs a mono-color. it just seems more interesting when its new as well as after its faded (imo)...

That's it, good luck and hope all goes well with your designing!
  • well i particularly like just a black outline as opposed to color...but i think with something like a wave, which includes a curl, needs to have some dimension and liveliness...i mean waves are roaring beautiful beasts, i feel like just your average black outline (for a wave) will make it look too incomplete...so that's my issue...i prefer just black tats over color, but i feel like a wave has to be an exception...

so that's why i started this thread. tats are permanent, so i want to poll the general public before i make my decision

this is very weird..... JUST today I designed a PJ wave tattoo for myself. All black ink for me though.
We must be on the same wave (no pun intended) length
