I transferred my itunes library from my external hard drive to my new mac mini. Overall things went well but I have 4,000 songs (flac files) that didn't!!! They had been converted to .aiff and I do have files that did convert so I'm lost. The folders seem to be there but other than song titles and time of songs no other info. is present.

They are listed at the end of my library like this :

01betterman 4:12
01 betterman 2 4:56
02 black dog
03 comfortably numb.............and on and on and on!

Any quick fixes other than just erasing the files and trying to find all these concerts to download again?

  • FLAC is not recognized by iTunes. The Mac won't allow you to simply drag the FLAC files over from the external to a folder on the Mini? It should. I would think it would treat those files like any other file, but since they won't play or show up in iTunes, you won't see them there.

Thanks for the tips. I should have said that what were flac files that I converted to .aiff files, a lot did not transfer but some did :?: Delukin, thanks for the site - looks like I did what was shown so now I have to put songs with correct folders which should take me a year to get completed!!! :o
