Flight to Mars CCFA Benefit Concert VIP Pre-Party

Join fellow fans at an exclusive Flight to Mars (featuring Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready) VIP pre-concert party at the Showbox on Saturday, May 2nd at 6:00 PM, hosted by the Wishlist Foundation to benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s (CCFA) Camp Oasis and Advocacy for Patients.

Joining Flight to Mars for this special event is Duff McKagan’s Loaded as well as Mike McCready’s original band Shadow ’86, who will reunite once again on-stage to perform a tribute to Seattle rock legend Jimi Hendrix.


Silver VIP Packages
6:00 PM: Silver VIP attendees arrive early for an exclusive pre-concert party where they receive two laminate passes to the show, catch the sound check while mingling with other fans, enjoy delicious appetizers and a cash bar with complimentary Heinekens and pick up their Goodie Bags.

8:00 PM: VIP attendees get first choice location for the show before the general admission ticket holders enter.

    One Royal VIP attendee will get to live out their rock-n-roll fantasy and be invited up on stage with Flight to Mars to play tambourine during one of their songs. The performance will be filmed and the VIP will receive a video memento. Song to be determined by band and a Waiver of Liability must be signed to participate in this feature.

    SEATTLE – Flight to Mars (featuring Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready) will perform a benefit concert for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s (CCFA) Camp Oasis and Advocacy for Patients at Seattle’s Showbox at the Market on Saturday, May 2nd. Joining Flight to Mars for this special event is Duff McKagan’s Loaded as well as Mike McCready’s original band Shadow ’86 who will reunite once again on-stage to perform a tribute to Seattle rock legend Jimi Hendrix.

    Tickets are $20 (not including applicable service charges) and go on sale this Friday, March 27th at 10:00 am PDT online at www.ticketmaster.com , at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Showbox Box Office.

    Founded in 2003, Flight to Mars, a tribute to the 80’s rock band UFO, features Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready. That same year, the yet to be named Flight to Mars lineup played live at Seattle’s Sunset Tavern as part of a surprise encore set after The Rockfords, McCready’s other side project, played the first ever CCFA benefit concert. Joining McCready in Flight to Mars are friends and local musicians Tim DiJulio (guitar), Gary Westlake (bass), Kelly Van Camp (drums) and Paul Passereli (vocals).

    In 2002 McCready made public his 20-year battle with Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis and has since been committed to raising awareness and funding for CCFA. "As a patient living with Crohn's and colitis, the CCFA has played a huge part in helping me get the support and information that I need," says McCready. "I'm grateful that my band mates and friends can support and join me for a night of music and fun that will help us find a cure for these debilitating diseases."

    Although Duff McKagan’s Loaded was formed some 10 years ago, the number of live gigs that they have played does not reflect its age…until now. Loaded have at long last followed up their thought instilled 2002 release, ‘Dark Days’, with ‘Sick’, their tour-de-force penned last summer back in their common ground of Seattle. Loaded will continue their world tour this Spring/09 with gigs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, U.K., Ireland, and Japan. Band Members: Duff McKagan (vocals/guitar/ bass), Geoff Reading (drums), Jeff Rouse (bass) and Mike Squires (guitar).

    About CCFA:
    The concert beneficiary, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Founded in 1967, CCFA’s mission is to cure and prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.

    CCFA’s Camp Oasis is a co-ed residential camp program that's mission is to enrich the lives of children with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by providing a safe and supportive camp community.

    I doubt I'll be able to afford any of those after buying the plane tix and the tickets for the show last night - lol but I'm very much looking forward to the show and spending the weekend with friends :D
