5 Things You Want on the New Album
1: MORE STONE songs please! Last two albums sucked because they only had a total of 6 Stoney tracks(not including Wasted Reprise). If you want a hit record you need at least 4 songs with Gossard credited to it(Ten-Binaural all had it).
2: Less punk, more rock!!!!!
3: More Mikey solos.
4: Leave Boom on stage and out of the studio.
5: Eddie writing more songs about water! (waves, oceans, sea, etc...)
These are the recipe to make a great PJ album.![:D :D](https://community.pearljam.com/plugins/emojiextender/emoji/yahoo/grin.gif)
Whay say you?

weird songs
grooves

2. More experimentation ala no code
3. Atleast one unique Matt song (you are/in the moonlight style)
4. songs with more bass prominence
5. BETTER RECORDING QUALITY
8/7/08, 6/9/09
and Ed singing it like its live.. no mumbling like the last few albums..
2. More Ed vocal solo (Arc style)
let mccready wail like it is the resurrection of jimi hendrix
let stone jam like he's never jammed before
bring on the masterful mood of ament's bass
and definitely better recording quality!!!!!!
[2007] Chicago, Il. Lollapalooza
[2006] East Rutherford, NJ. Continental Airlines Arena
[2003] Atlanta, GA. HifiBuys Amphitheater
[2000] Atlanta, GA. Philips Arena
like yield no code and a release!
work = work + 1;
sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
else if (work >= 0) {
reality.equals(false);
work = work +1;
}system("pause");
return 0;}
2. Jeff Ament
3. Ed Ved
4. Stone Gossard
5. Matt Cameron/ (Dave Krusen cameo?)
Something resembling No Code/ Vitology era PLEASE?
:twisted:
I'm kinda hoping for an Asian Pear myself
1. NO punk. Their punk-ish songs SUCK so bad.
2. More bass... is Jeff even in the band anymore?
3. More Stone songs... he writes the best riffs and grooves. Let the man bring his funk side back into this band.
4. Better/longer jams. I miss the days of them not being afraid to have a rocking solo close Alive, or a fantastically hard rocking bridge like in Immortality. I'm tired of this rushing through nine 3-minute shitty verse chorus verse punk tunes... bring back some dynamics and tension.
5. Slow down. PJ is at their best with epic songs that unfold patiently, not racing through half baked riff rockers. Plus, Ed can't sing those songs anymore. Listen to Benaroya... if you give the man a bit of room and time to breathe and project, his voice can be as powerful as it has ever been.
great post.

I agree with all of these 100%. Eddie can't scream and growl like he used to, but he can still sing phenomenally. They need more songs that fit his voice now, not 10 years ago.
Also more mid tempo songs like Red Mosquito, In Hiding, etc. The last album was all hard rockers and a few slow tunes. It needs some middle ground.
2. Keys - such as keyboards, etc.
3. No obnoxious fast rockers/punk style in the name of STBC, Comatose, Lukin
4. More songs like Smile and Who You Are!!!
5. Most importantly, NOTHING too bland - give me hooks, but give me art alike, give me originality, challenge my ears, yet give me catchiness - all simultaneously. To heck with fan-friendly riffage, and in with good, original (but not bland!) riffage.
Definitely Eddie singing with the true depth of his voice. "Guaranteed" melts me.
I love Mikes' guitar, but modern solos. Make it talk. A lead guitar can -- at times, sound dated.
Louder Bass, and funky. Like that perfect song I love by Blind Melon ... "Tones of Home"
Again, "make it talk"
P.S. And I would also like a hot turkey sandwich with mayo and tomato.
Everybody winds up kissing the wrong person goodnight. - Andy Warhol
I totally agree on this point. I don't need the long solos to make me appreciate Mike. But, he needs a presence, as you say, that "talks."
beat me to it
-Less chunky riffs
-Stone singing.........Mankind part deux
-13 plus songs
-Maybe some experimnetal stuff like the style and tone of You Are
The Point, Dublin 2006
Bercy, Paris September 11, 2006
ISS Dome, Dusseldorf, 2007
2. Song w/ a soaring chorus akin to GTF
3. More Stone written tracks.... 16 songs should yield at LEAST 4 Stone tracks
4. Some upbeat acoustic song(s)... not droning acoustic like Thumbing my way...
5. A beautiful closing song that rivals indifference
I didn't realize Jonathan Crane was a fan of Pearl Jam... how are you doing, good doctor?
- Experimentation (like Vitalogy, No Code )
- A great epic song a la Immortality or Present Tense with a good jam.
- Good riffs from Mr. Stone Gossard and more bass - Jeff deserves it!
It's growing up just like me.
