I am a fan myself and I keep it local in the States and follow the NY RedBulls. Of course, MLS doesn't even come close to Premier League but its what we have here. As for the PL I tend to follow 2 teams Manchester United and Arsenal as my favorites but I lean a little more towards MU  I try to catch as many games as I can but Fox Soccer Channel doesn't get everything and ESPN sometimes does but its hit or miss or atleast I miss them.

So as for any TriState people ever want to catch a game at Giants Stadium let me know, I am always looking to go. Oh I don't have season tickets, but thinking of getting the 8 game pack with 2 seats.

speaking of Man UTD.. think AIG will drop them since the US taxpayers are paying for them?

    Columbus Crew Baby!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

Had season tickets for a couple years early on when the Crew played at Ohio Stadium before Crew Stadium was built. Let them go when my Dad passed. Soccer was something we shared.Nowadays I mostly follow in the paper.
Still a fairly cheap ticket , from what I understand.

Long live the World Game! :D

    GO MAN U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not very familiar with the MLS, though... Heard of LA Galaxy because of Beckham. Never seen them actually play.

Do you get any good games over there?

I think so. We have a sprinkling of International players on each team. Great youth programs. US Team is getting better with each World Cup. Not long til we win it for once.

Aussie's can pretty much tie up a world cup spot tonight if they beat Uzbekistan. Will only need 1 point from three games and their in if they win tonight.

Love watching the English Prem League. The teamwork and passing that goes on is so good to watch.

yeah we get a good amount of games over here.. My local Fox Soccer Channel carries Premier games, some Italia and MLS here in the states. . Also, depending on some bars you go to they have some games on. Love to watch it, played for years but gave it up in my youth. I fell back in love with the game a few years ago, glad I am back. Yeah, Beckham plays for LA, he doesn't do much but bring a crowd to the game. He is playing for an Italian team now correct? I don't remember the name of the team he is on.

I'm not a fan of the Premiere League. I find it funny that people in the US only/mostly follow that league.

I'm all for the Serie A (Italy's league).

MLS just doesn't stand up to European leagues, there's a big gap in skill so it's not really interesting to watch.

love waking up on saturday and sunday morning and watching the italian league & FA premier league on fox soccer channel.

i like soccer alot and really enjoy those two leagues in particular. you cannot beat the atmosphere and intensity. can't stand MLS because of the lack of those two.

I agree with you about MLS but is it because soccer is not a huge sport here in the US? I think that if the sport grows more here, then the intensity will pick up. As far as the talent on the field, they are not Italia or Premiere but they will get there one day hopefully. I still love to go to Red Bull games, like I said.. its what we got here.

It's all good as long as people show their love for the game :)

Do any of you guys actually play it? I've been playing football since I was 9 (I was part of the school's team), but given my lack of time I'm more into indoor soccer. How about you guys?

I played for years but then burned out from it. the constant traveling and all year play took a toll on me when I was younger. A few of my friends played Semi Pro after and some during college they all eventually gave it up. Sometimes we play for fun in the park but that is as far as it goes for me. I will gladly watch from the sidelines.

Played it since I was 8 years old. Playing in the over 35's now. Half field smaller goals no offsides. 6 a side unlimited interchange. Really enjoy it. Just a fun game to play. Very few fakers play cause they get laughed off the park.

I went to a world cup qualifier last night Australia Vs Uzbekistan. First ever soccer match I have been 2.

Australia is just about into the world cup. As for following it, I don't really, I like it but I support Augby League, AFL, cricket and tennis over soccer.

nice, new Philly team is 2010 correct? My buddy who lives down that way can't wait.. He hates trucking up here to see the Red BUlls. Plus it will be nice when they play each other, nice rivalry.

Fuck Portland and fuck MLS this year. There is no reason St. Louis should have gotten passed over for Ottawa and Portland for an MLS team. St. Louis is THE soccer capital of the US, there's an energized fanbase here, and proposals have been approved all around for a great soccer complex outside St. Louis.

Portland Timbers??? What a stupid name that is. That's as bad as Metro Stars, Mutiny, Wiz, and Galaxy.

But have they built it? Build it and they will come. Hell Red Bulls have been playing in Giants Stadium, well until next year when the new complex opens :D .. can't wait for that.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who thinks that some Football Teams in the US have really, really cheesy names

Football (soccer) is my favorite sport. I'm greatly looking forward to attending the home matches and as many away matches as possible once the Philadelphia MLS entry begins play next year. I'm a member of the Sons of Ben Suuporters Club . SOB's...it's a Philly thing. I'm also an Ajax supporter and a member (Soci) of FC Barcelona (Mes Que Un Club !!) .

I watch as much football as time allows : Fox Soccer Channel , Gol TV, and ESPN . Also, I follow Ajax and Barca online religiously.

MLS is leagues away from the rest of the world, farm league? but it is slowley growing up. UEFA Champions League is a great tournament. The EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, Primera Division, and the LFP, all great domestic leagues. Everyone sing "who the fck is Man United!!!! who the Fck is Man United!!!!!" Sorry; Fergusen is a great coach, watched him perform for the past 15 years and he knows what he is doing; and the little money he has to work with helps too... Man City will bring them down, sonner or later. Don't really have a favorite team although I have a liking for Juventus, don't know why, maybe because of many great players that have been on the team: Michel Plantini, Roberto Baggio, David Trezeguet, Edgar Davids, Del Piero, Buffon, I could go on but boring! Anyone remember Eric Cantona? Argentina has some of the best footballers playing abroad right now. Anyone actually play? Leagues, pick up games? Oh yeah I agree, St.Louis should definitely have a MLS team; more so then some of the other cities....Great soccer culture down there by the Mississippi river. Sounders seem to have their shit together. Went to college with guy that was on his way to play or try out for the Sounders back in 96' or 97' wonder if he ever made it. Ambitious and an awesome dude. Go Sounders!

I am hella stoked about Portland and Vancouver, BC both getting teams. The PNW will rock MLS!!! Should be a great three-way rivalry.

I'm a Houston Dynamo and US National Team fan. I watch Premier League games now and then. I'm excited about the forward the Dynamo just picked up. We're in desperate need of some firepower. He's played in England forever. Can any English fans tell me anything about Ade Akinbiyi? Even though he's old for international soccer standards (34), I'd imagine he's got a few good years in him yet in MLS.

I got my 5-game mini pack for the Dynamo this year... If we enjoy these games, we'll probably get a larger ticket package for next year.

Besides that, we follow the EPL and the UEFA Champions League pretty closely (I'm a ManUtd girl) I like watching Inter play because I always wanna know what Ibrahimovich might to next...
