Sometimes you just want to strangle people . . .

So, I get up this morning to go to work. I carpool. The dude comes by to pick me up so I walk out the front door and low and behold, my mailbox is laying over on its side. WTF??

So I go up and look at it. Now, I just had my mailbox replaced because the old one was falling apart. I used a 4x4 post and some heavy duty bolts and shit. Thing looks like it belongs in a state park. Also, I share the post with my elderly neighbor so there are two boxes on it.

Anyway, since the post was so big, whoever hit it just uprooted it like a tree. I think I can set it back up with some new cement but the boxes are destroyed.

Then I looked down the street and just about every other mailbox on both sides of the street were wiped out. As were those on the two other streets in our neighborhood. Some asshole or holes in a car drove through the neighborhood and swerved back and forth, hitting as many as they could. Those with cars parked near them were untouched. As were any that were made of bricks.

Fuckers.

    There is one guy who actually has a security camera on his house. His mailbox wasn't hit though so doubtful he saw anyting.

    I travel a lot for work and practically live in the airport. Soooooo many times I want to knock people over or push them out of my way! :D

    Grocery store is almost as bad. I swear, people are never aware of their surroundings. They are too busy starring in their own personal movie or something.

    No news on the mailbox situation. Guess I will find out more when I get home.

    Yeah! My guess is it was stolen.

    They thought about it too. Only the ones with wood or metal posts were hit. The ones with brick housing were skipped.

    Mailbox back upright. Will repack it in cement later. Police said a total of 20 in our neighborhood and 15 in another on the same night.

    That sucks man.

    When I own a house, I'm going to put steel I Beams in the ground, sticking out at a 45 degree angle, around my mail box. Its very Normandy Beach inspired, but it will give the plow guy and any ass hole kids something to watch for. :lol:

    They make some that are really flexible too so if you run into them or hit them with a bat they just swing back up.

    someone pulled my mailbox out of the ground last year, and just laid it on the lawn. I wasn't happy, but it was relatively harmless, so I just borrowed a sledgehammer and put it back in place. A few months later our mailbox was silly-stringed. I'm starting to think... someone really hates our mailbox.

    One morning in my neighborhood many of us awoke to car and home doors caulked shut! Luckily, they only smeared caulk over my license plate.
    For some reason I found it funny. I do know its not funny and I know the dangers, yet it still seems funny to me. Can you imagine trying to open your house door and it won't open, and/or your car? I'd be so pissed, especially in the morning! Oohh! Running late for work and can't open any doors!!
    My bf had to scrape it off our license plate. He did not appreciate my laughter. I just couldn't help it. One of those things you know you shouldn't laugh about, but can't help it, like laughing at church.
    Oh, to be young, with time on your hands. I never thought of that when young! :lol:
