There was a thread on this on the old board, but I think it deserves a new run on this board as well. I CANT STAND, those apple ear buds. The top cap of one of the ear buds slips off of mine, so I think I want to get new headphones, preferable, non apple, non earbud.
What are some good headphones? The top of the line obviously is bose, as it is for everything, but I have actually heard many not so good things about the noise cancelling bose headphones, that they fall apart after a few months, that its painful on the ear etc...
So what are some good headphones? As a kid, back in the 90's, when going to the record store was the thing to do, I remember vividly, listening to the cd's with the stores, over ear headphones, sony I think, and have never owned a pair of my own. So thats sort of what I am aiming for=over ear

SMELL YER MA!
I have 3 pairs of headphones. One is from Sony's new athletic line, which I use for working out. The others are top notch. I bought Shure earbuds, and they are fantastic. Kinda pricey, though really the $100 pair sounds great, is durable as hell, and blocks sound better than most noise canceling phones will. However, they're the kind that stick into your ear, which some people don't like. My other pair is the Bose on-ear headphones. I love them. They're not as big and bulky as they Bose over-ear phones, and they're a nice supplement to my earbuds. Also, the soft leather ear pads are so comfortable, even with glasses. They're pretty expensive, but I haven't regretted buying them at all. They sound fantastic.
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
sound great....will try out the noise canceling feature when i fly next week

i use sony's that wrap around the ear
only like 18 bucks.
they usually break after like 4-6 months but thats heavy wear and tear
You would think all the money you spend on an Ipod the least they could do is provide some better sounding buds.I mean those things are terrible. every time I see someone using those I just shake my head and I think to my self how can someone listen to those pieces of shit. I mean all you gotta do is drop like $20 and you could get something 100x better
But just last week, I got some Phillips over-the-ear earbuds from Amazon. 30 bucks, free shipping and at my door in 36 hours. These things are the total bomb for running. Why'd I wait so long?
