My dad knows Dave Matthews kinda and painted a house right next to his and my dad said that people would stand outside of Dave's house and wait for someone to come out. Even creepier than stalking a hotel.

IF you want a sig try and get it at the show don't go to his hotel please.

If youre gonna wait at MSG, you can wait at the ramp, but they typically drive up the ramp to the 5th floor, so not much chance of catching anyone there. You may want to wait instead (especially for a non-PJ event) at 8 Pennsylvania Ave - known to staff as 8 Penn. If you're looking at the ramp, look to your right, and you'll see an awning... it's the one with an 8 at the end of it and usually some barricade that's not set up. I've escorted many famous people thru those doors, and no one thinks to check it. If he's hopping a cab, that's the only convenient way in.

If they were real fans they'd leave him alone. Same with Dave. that ain't the way to get them to like you.

i know we are talking about ed...but basically isn't everyone calling mike a stalker? he openly admitted to pretty much stalking out bands at shows? he's told a story of how he hid under Iron Maiden's limo (i think he said Iron Maiden, i could be wrong) just for sigs? he was semi-successful...i think it takes a lot of balls to do something like that...even if it may seem freakish to do so, i would think any fan of a person, or band would go to any length just to get to have an experience like that...my bro met met The Shins from doing something like that...

so in recap, yeah it's stalkerish, but fuck, that takes massive balls to pull something like that off...i think those who have been successful deserve some sort of praise

Even though autographs aren't my thing, I don't have a problem with it as long as it's at the venue. Outside of their "jobs" they're just people, and should be treated as such.

I dont think the hotel is really the best way to go... but if you wait at a venue you're waiting with a bunch of douchebags trying to make some $$ off the autos.

I went to a Chris Cornell show in Milwaukee after Euphoria Morning came out. He came out and was super nice to everyone, but these two guys just kept shoving these photos in his face. Eventually he gave up and left earlier than he would have.

I dont know what the moral of my story is... but I just think that waiting at venues is a lost cause esp for someone like Eddie who isn't known for hanging around long at all (not blaming him, just stating that).

Personally I think no matter where you see him, just be respectful and he will too. I also think if you can catch him when there's no one else around you're golden - if you're in a crowd he's probably going to just wave and continue on...

Let me re-think this. It's OK to hide under limos and hotel's and stuff, as long as you're a teenager.

Just do not do it if you're a 40 year old woman standing in his driveway with a camera. :P

well standing outside the house is one thing...so i guess a way to justify it is, if you do something ballsy to get the autograph (i.e. hiding under a limo, sneaking backstage at the concert, something like that) that deserves praise and a free beer on me.

well i mentioned my bro's story with the shins...basically he saw someone walk out of a backstage door leading outside and my bro and his friend was just standing there and my bro caught the door right before it closed. he went back stage and walked around, he saw the roadies cleaning up the stage (this was after the show) he offers to help but they kick him out (not forcefully but they're like "are you supposed to be here?" they said no then the roadies said "you guys should leave" so they did) then that night my bro posted the story on a message board that the drummer is known to frequent. the drummer talked to him and gave him and his friend a spot on the VIP list to the show the next night (same venue) so they went and not only did he meet the shins and hung out with them and got things signed, he actually sat next to comedian David Cross. he was too chicken to talk to him though haha...

    anyways back to PJ
