SEATTLE — Pearl Jam announced today that they will play a series of select North American tour dates in support of their ninth studio album, Backspacer. Scheduled for release in the U.S. on Sunday, September 20, 2009, the album will be released in the U.S. through Target, the exclusive mass retail partner, Pearl Jam's own Ten Club and independent retailers, as well as online through digital, and gaming platforms yet to be announced. Internationally, the album will be available beginning on September 21, 2009 via Universal/Island Records. The first single, “The Fixer,” will be released at radio on July 20, 2009.

Pearl Jam's North American dates kick-off in the band’s hometown of Seattle with two shows at Key Arena (September 21st and 22nd) and close with two concerts at Philadelphia's historic Spectrum (October 28th and 30th).

Ben Harper and Relentless7 will open all dates except for the Spectrum shows. All dates subject to change.

Public tickets for Pearl Jam's Spectrum shows will go on-sale Friday, July 17th at 10 a.m. EST through ComcastTIX at http://www.ComcastTIX.com, by calling 1-800-298-4200, in person at the Wachovia Complex box office or select Acme Markets and at http://www.LiveNation.com. The remaining announced North American dates will go on-sale Saturday, July 18th. Specific ticket on-sale times and locations will be announced in local markets. (Note: Potential additional dates and corresponding on-sale information may be announced at a later date.)

A special ticket pre-sale for current members (as of July 7, 2009) of Pearl Jam's Ten Club begins Monday, July 13th. Visit http://www.pearljam.com for full details.

Pearl Jam plans to tour Australia and New Zealand in November 2009. Full details on that leg of the tour will be announced in the coming weeks.

Pearl Jam’s North America Concert Dates are as Follows:
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Well if we're getting detailed. Then I have no new details really. I don't think.

Though it was in the paper here saying they were going to play Adelaide Oval on Nov 7th but would be announced officially in the next few weeks. I can;t remember where else but it was the first time I heard "few weeks". Now, personally I take that quite literally. Few = Three.

American tour was announced 3 weeks ago this Thurs/Fri. It's mostly just a guess and a strong hope that its announced this week, or at least on sale soon so we can get it out the way.

Gomez are doing a run of shows end of October. Do you think possibly after they do their run of solo shows they will support PJ for a November tour? They do have strong support here so sideshows could definitely be done. Is Ben Harper confirmed as the tour support for Australia? I must admit I was really hoping for a Gomez/PJ tour but I am happy now that the guys are coming back in October.

Surely the announcement cannot be far away. Can't wait!
