I ate a chocolate covered cricket at a Penn State insect fair last year. I wouldn't consider it 'eating a bug' though because all I really tasted was chocolate. And I was definitely spitting cricket parts out of my teeth the rest of the day, so that wasn't fun...
I have a friend who ate bugs all the time, very strange lad he is!

why eat bugs??? can these people not find anything better to eat?? is it like that scene in the lion king where Timon & Pumba explain that theres nothing else but tons and tons of bugs / grubs? UGH.
Yesterday morning, I had a dream I was standing at the end of a garden. It was full of of rows of corn, tomatoes, and all the goodies, but at the end of all these rows, the soil had been turned up. It was the section where I had planted some peas. I scooped them up and started devouring them, soil and all. I don't know what the gest of the dream was, but it came to me that we ingest living organisms in everything we eat.
So if you were to ask me, if I had ever eaten bugs...Yes at the microscopic level...
Have a great day,

I accidently eat bugs often. When you ride a bike that s**t happens. I'm never sure what kind they are because if you can't manage to spit them out they are gone before you know it. But obviously they are some sort of small flying bug - hopefully not a housefly (yuck). More likely gnats and mosquitos and stuff I guess.
Also, just as a note to those of you who say you never eat bugs. Well, you do if you eat any sort of grain. There is no way to get all of the insects and insect parts out of grain which makes our flour which goes into all kinds of our food. If you ever look at the Dept. of Ag. rules they limit how much insect parts and mouse/rat droppings are allowed. Really! So every time you eat a bowl of cereal or rice or something you are probably eating an insect part. Yummy huh?

One time I was driving down the highway with the windows down and my hand resting on the side mirror. All of the sudden a huge bug smacks my knuckles, ricochets right into my partially opened mouth, and splatters all over my teeth! It was so friggin' gross and alarming that I damn near had an accident swerving to pull over to spit it out and regain my composure. It's funny now but was pretty gross at the time.

Ha! That is so funny!
While riding (cycling) with friends, one of our group got a yellow jacket stuck in her helmet vent. It was situated just right where it could and did sting her 3 times before she got stopped and got her helmet off.
While riding a motorcycle (I was on back), a wasp went up my husband's jacket sleeve and stung him several times before we got pulled over.
Those incidents aren't very funny, but eating bugs that fly (or ricochet) into your mouth are funny.

lol ... well, i was writing an article on bug-eating, but it died in the page. I might return to it at a later date, if i can find some bug-eaters. So, I take it you wouldn't want to take one for the team and eat a bug?
Only during my sleep. I once woke up w/ a spider in my mouth.
Oh bullshit!!! Ewwww....
I can assure you that you've done it too, Ziggy. Specially living in Oz:
"Each year the average person will "eat" several insects while they are sleeping. During the average lifetime, a person consumes about seventy insects and ten spiders during their sleep. According to some sources, beetles have a taste that is similar to apples while wasps taste like pine nuts."

When I was six I was playing on the sidewalk and there was a trail of little red ants walking across. I distinctly remember thinking I'm gonna eat one of them. Then I looked around, all sneaky-like, to make sure no one was watching. I Picked it up and popped it in my mouth.
I have never tasted something so bitter and disgusting.
