Frozen Four!

Who's with me? Already a HUGE upset today with Air Force (of the soon to be defunct College Hockey America conference) taking down Michigan. And right now I'm watching Miami (Ohio) take out a rudder-less Denver team. To be fair, Miami's a decent team, even if they're #4 in their region. Still, DU is too cute and not playing any recognizable system this evening.

Anyways, ESPN's really pushing the tourney this year, probably devoting more air time than they have to all the NHL season highlights combined. Here's the tv schedule: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/tvsked.php

The World Jr. is still the best place to get your annual fill of NHL prospects. But the Frozen Four is college sports at its best. So sit back, grab a beer (or three), and enjoy, puckheads!

Haven't been watching the tourny much, but I happened to be flipping the tv and got the last 6 seconds of the UNH/Dakota game, what a FINISH! My astute wife then says, man that sucks for them, first half their state is under water, now they just losta hockey game with .3 on the clock.

I watched most of the games over the weekend, some great endings, Dulth scoring 2 goals in the last 39 seconds, New Hampshire tying NoDak with .3 left, the Air Force-Vermont strange ending where the puck went through the net. As a Minnesota Gopher fan I'm glad one team from the state made it in Bemidji but I was hoping Duluth would also join them. Boston should win the title this year they are by far the best team but with all the upsets so far I guess I shouldn't be surprised by whomever wins.

My co worker went to Miami of Ohio and he came in and told me about this earlier. He was really excited. I woudl be too, but my college does not have a hockey team so i dont pay too much attention to it. ;)

I went to the Frozen Four when it was in Providence in '95 ... still one of the top 5 sporting events I've ever been to (not to mention, BU won it all). I tihnk it was Maine and Michigan that played a triple OT game in the semis ... the most exciting hockey game I ever saw.

a TON of upsets in the tourney this year ... it was a lot of fun to watch.

Great representation for Hockey East ... sadly, BU has to play UVM in the semis ... but, indeed, I have to pull for the alma mater ... GO TERRIERS!

Which leaves me just one question ... where the fuck is Bemidji State??? :D

Bemidji State is in northern Minnesota. According to the local paper today it is considered the first city to be on the Mississippi river.

    hoooooooooooo-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fuck.

    No way that happened.

BU, down 3 - 1, pull the goalie with 3 minutes left .... score TWICE in the last minute.

    Win it in overtime.

    WOW. Way to go BU!

An amazing finish. I was at work catching the last 4 minutes of the 3rd and couldn't believe how the final mintue went. Great finish for BU, sucks for the underdog Redhawks though.
