So, I saw the Who on Tuesday night.

I can pretty much say my love of Pearl Jam, and their (particualrly Eddie, I guess) love of the Who got me into the Who over the last few years. After buying a couple of their dvds & hearing PJ covers, I bought a ticket once they went on sale to see them where I last saw my beloved Pearl Jam, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. They did a great set, everything one would expect - Wont Get Fooled Again, Behind Blue Eyes, Pinball Wizard, My Generation, Who Are You, Baba O'Riley - and they were fantastic, but, still rate PJ's Brisbane #1 2006 show as the best concert I've EVER been to.
Anyone else seen the Who on this Australian tour? BTW, for non-Australians, this was their first Brisbane show in 41 years!

I know a few people who traveled from the States to be there and I've been following the tour on The Who's site. You were lucky enough to get a few songs that they don't do so often, Anyway Anyhow Anywhere and The Kids Are Alright plus a couple from Quad, 5.15 and Love Reign O'er Me. Also Fragments which is one of my faves from Wire and Glass. Pete and Roger seem to be enjoying themselves quite a bit these days and I'm hoping the Australian fans don't have such a long wait for the next tour.

And walk out in the air
The stars are all connected to the brain.
nice sig!
8/08 - Ed solo in DC, 6/09 Ed in B'more,
10/10 - Brad in B'more
But Pete and Roger still have a lot of passion for playing music and as drummers go, I think Zak Starkey can bring it as close as anyone will ever be able as far as succeeding Moonie in The Who. When you watch Pete and Zak on stage, they are in sync and play off each other they way Pete and Keith used to. It's glorious.

My first Who show was March 16, 1976.
I was lucky enough to see them back in the day as well (just not quite that far back!)
First show was on the 1979 Kids are allright tour; I saw them a couple of times in '82, including at the Pontiac Silverdome with the Clash. I really like Zak Starkey -- i thought the two shows I saw at MSG in 2000 were incredible. I think they lost a lot when John Entwhistle died, but im glad to see new fans are still enjoying them. And if Pete and Roger have the energy to carry on- - more power to them.
