Normally i don't like to use the word 'classic' but i can't think of a better choice of words to describe 'into the wild'

This record never fails to amaze me, it's been important to me since it's release and i'm sure always will be. Just want to thank Ed for making this inspiring music!

Into the wild is truly one of the greats.

edit: AND THE FILM IS GREAT TOO!!

    here here!

    Agreed!

I know it's blasphemy, but I might like it more than any PJ album.

It's a different kind of "like," though. Hard to explain.

hands down agree with you about the music...that said, I guess I may be the only one who was really let down by the movie...I kinda found a lot of the direction and the emotional notes to be heavy handed (and somewhat cheesy). Anyway, just my humble opinion. I am glad it has found so many fans and supporters here. I just really wanted to love it. Kinda bummed when I didn't.
  • Fuck yeah.

I've been listening to Into The Wild just today, not even 10 minutes ago.

The combination of Rise --> Long Nights --> Tuolumne --> Hard Sun --> Society is just unbelievable.

Can't believe it's been out for slightly over a year now (Sep. 07)

I agree. While I thought the movie was good...I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be, based on the thoughts of some of my friends and some reviews that I had read (mainly, on this board).

    Agreed.

    Short and sweet as well.

The only track i ever skip is "Hard Sun". Just because i've heard it a million times.

Also the movie really wasn't that good. I tried it a couple times

I love it! by the way, anyone know if it went platinum or not. I would guess it has but I'm not sure.

Id say 1 in 10 people is aware there is even an album.

    That's pretty high. 1 in 10 don't even know there's a movie.

I had couched this album for a bit after the solo shows in DC but have been listening a lot lately. One of my favorite albums. Means so much to me and I am sure many others.
Also, I have been listening to a recording of one of Ed's solo shows in CA. I don't know how I got it. :o But it always blows me away. Just wish he didn't chitchat so much.

It is a classic. It's good to know if PJ ever breaks up (hopefully never) that we'll still have awesome new music and touring to look forward too.
