I *heard* today that PJ was going to play at the Mile High Music Festival here in Denver this July but due to "scheduling conflicts" they can't make it. Does this mean a summer tour?

No PJ but still a pretty good line up announced.

The conflict may be recording the next album (hopefully).

I thought they were already recording the new album and that's why there was all this talk of a possible tour this summer.

Let's all start crossing our fingers (and anything else we can think of ;) ) for a summer tour!

I know somebody personally that works for Summerfest in Milwaukee. They told me that they tried getting PJ for this years festival, but were unable to because the band "wasn't going to be in that part of the country at that time". I'm hoping that means that they'll be out touring at least somewhere!

BTW- Summerfest usually takes place around the 4th of July

That's interesting. Does this mean that they might be playing shows in the south or on the west coast in July? Hmmm....

While a summer tour would be awesome, I think a fall tour is more likely. But since they're self-releasing the new album, anything could happen.
  • This breaks my heart. Let's hope for something at Red Rocks a little later in the year!

Are people here more excited for a possible tour or a new album? Im undecided, seems that most on here are leaning towards touring though...

According to someone I know who knows Mike, the album is done. Mike is in Cali and has taken some piano lessons and written songs, but it's up to Ed if they make the cut.

Wouldn't if they were already set to play there, wouldn't they schedule the tour around it? If they canceled it probably means something other than a tour. I think they have more control over their show schedule than that

Perhaps they were thinking about playing it, then as the tour dates in other venues started to fall into place it just took them in another direction.

I keep getting this feeling that I am going to wake up one morning and the tour will be announced and the tickets will be gone. I want it all...the tour announced the tickets in my hand and a new album...probably a lot to ask for, but, were all allowed to dream : )

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

I can't speculate when a tour may be, but I do know three days it won't be...May 2 (Flight To Mars) and May 22 and 23...Melvins 25th Anniversary with Green River opening (posted on Showbox website).

Good point. I would think that we are looking at no earlier than July anyway. There is a decent possibility that this will be a full blown North American tour with 2 or 3 legs, covering all corners of the continent. If that is the case, a July/August and an October/November leg would make a lot of sense ...

Then again, we could be looking at 15 or so shows like 2008 too, and if that is the case it will likely revolve around ACL and be September/October ...

    We need some news!!!!

    agreed!

seeing shows here in the states and in europe 2006 - 2008, while absolutely fantastic....but all without a new album since avocado...i far prefer a new album FIRST. i LOVE LIVE PJ, but i definitely could use new music to get excited about and enjoy live. and i personally would prefer a fall or winter tour - anything after september 15th, but whateva.....they play any local shows, i am THERE!
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • I just hope its not in September or late August because I have a baby due.

I'm starting to think that is what's going to happen- a west/southern tour around ACL and Bridge- then a full world tour in 2010

  • still an outside chance they show up at mile high:

More bands remain to be announced, with Morris saying that some will be big enough to headline Red Rocks. Those names will come out in the days and weeks to come. Look to CBS4 for complete details.

i believe pj has played red rocks before, with wsp slated to play both shows, one night till 1:30, they could have fray on the other mainstage, then pj from 8-10:30, then wsp after pj

7 of the 10 Summerfest Headliners have been announced. Only three more left. I actually hope not; rather see them play Alpine.

Maybe 2010 Summerfest->Rothbury. I am getting ahead of myself.
