Best Songs on the Reissue...

They come in order and it starts with OCeans. Next best is porch, and third best is garden. Oceans is absolutley incredible. BOB drew out Eddies voice and its so crisp, clear, and just simply beautiful. The guitars on Porch are down right nasty, you can really hear each scratch on the string and every tone. Its much more punkish now. And the intro to garden is just unreal. I feel like the former hits were only touched up a little bit because they are the classics and didnt need too much adjustment. The songs that weren't radio favorites got more doctoring up.

I agree about the hits like you said. Especially Alive, i don't feel much has changed at all. However, I feel like Jeremy has a lot more going on musically than ever before. It grew old for me, but this new mix has brought it back 100%

Love the whole thing. It's like a new pair breasts on an old girlfriend.

Great analogy. I think Garden sounds the freshest. Alive does sound a bit different - Mike's solo is much different than the original version.
  • I love the remixes of Garden and Deep, also Why Go's Intro revs me up a little more!
  • Ed's voice is much more prominent on Alive, I like it.

the drums at the end of Jeremy are out of control good. That's been my least favorite track on Ten and now I can't stop listening to it...the ending of Black is awesome as well...

That's an interesting question- I was going to say that Alive and Black pull me in much more than in recent years. Where I would have more easily given them the once over because they were the "hits", now they grab me by the chalupa and don't let me go. I think because they are the songs they are, they got more attention, but they were handled much more carefully. Just my 2 pennies...
