Pearl Jam in my school

I work as a Cover Assistant at a Secondary (high) school (basically a school-epmployed substitute teacher, sort of). Outside of my classes I make a load of displays for the boards that we have all around the school.
These are often of topics studied in subjects, upcoming events/celebrations or just things to interest the students.

As you can see, I've made a couple of Pearl Jam inspired ones :). One is for the English department, comparing the poems of William Blake and John Betjeman with more contemporary things (music, The Office etc) and the other is a purely Pearl Jam board in the music corridor.

What do you think? The High-Res images are large, but hopefully you'll be able to read them that way. Some of it is just wikipedia information, but there are some good nuggets in there as well as plenty of lyrics. Oh and thanks to imalive for finding the quote I needed!

    Thats very cool! I hope that inspires some of the young kids check out the band.

    Yeah the school is good with the boards, always getting changed so there's always something interesting for the kids and staff to look at.

    I did an Into the Wild board at one point, just because I think that whole idea and story of what McCandless did can be pretty inspiring and interesting, but I don't have any pictures of it.

    They were in my Junior year high school book for American History in the chapter about women's rights. no lie

    Hopefully the kids will find it interesting. When I was putting it up one student saw it and asked if the picture of Eddie hanging over the stage was real, he was pretty amazed! They love the Betjeman/Blake/Beastie Boys/Calvin and Hobbes comparisons :lol: But I think it is a useful way to think about the poems they study, to compare how differently people can explore similar ideas and themes.
