and take a look at my truck....and am thrilled to see that they had put new tires on Saturday...WOOO HOOO!!!!

i jump in and head on down the road.....i drive 20-25 miles on the highway...exit the highway.....make a left hand turn....drive another mile.....make a right hand turn....

and this is where the fun starts.....

as i make the right hand turn my truck pulls hard to the left.....and i notice that 2 of my new tires...that were put on saturday.....are now bouncing down the street in front of me.....

as i watch the tires go on their merry way.......i am cringing because their are 8-10 cars coming at them.....somehow the tires didnt hit any of them.....THANK GOD!!!!!

had this happened at any time when i was on the highway... i would/could have killed myself and plenty of others......UNFUCKINGREAL!!!!!

i wonder if the assfuck who put on the new tires.....and FORGOT to tighten the lugnuts will still have a job today....

im thinking he wont.....

    lucky isnt even the word.....

i cant believe i was able to drive 20-25 highway miles without those tires coming off....

each one of those tractor tires has to weigh close to 150lbs.....can you imagine those tires crashing into a car windshield at 55 mph????

it would have been instant death to the passenger of that car.

how the fuck can you forget to tighten lugnuts??? ON A FUCKING SEMI???

    ITS A SEMI!!!!

that is going to be hooked to a trailor that is going to pull 40,000lbs of freight.....

had they fallen off on the highway the truck and trailor would have flipped over...probably killing me...

and the tires would have gone crashing through someones windshield at 55mph killing the driver and passengers in that vehicle.....

i was a fucking mess for the rest of the day.....i didnt want to drive that truck...or any truck ever the fuck again......

For 20 years i have driven semis and i do not have ONE MOVING VIOLATON......yet yesterday i could have killed people in an instant....

    im still a fucking mess.........

Walk in to work with a pleasant attitude.....say good morning/afternoon to everyone.....just do anything and everything they ask of me....never bitching and moaning or complaining.....and after 8-10 hours i go home......

why give them the oppurtunity to see you angry??? right??? I just act like an adult and do my job with a smile on my face....

BUT...they knew damned well i was a little upset about what could have happened....

makes sense to me... and you should be a little pissed about it, I mean if not for anyone elses safety but your own. You're out there every day and need to know that the equipment is safe to operate.

And like you said, there is rarely ever a reason to get angry at work.. its a job and if it is that bad, then its time to find a new one.

i watch drivers....grown men in their 40's and 50's bitch moan and complain every fucking day when they are given their daily manifest.....

my boss just hands me my manifest and says "give me a call when you are finished"

and thats that....he knows damn well I am the least of his problems.....I have never fucking ever let them see me anything but professional in how i go about doing my job....

and when i walk in to work today.....i wont mention a fucking thing about what happened yesterday(unless the big boss questions me)......i will just show up...say good morning/afternoon....get my manifest.....and go about my business....

    Good attitude Speedy.
Makes you wonder if the guy that didnt tighten your lugnuts lets everything wash off of his back as easily as you do. I sure hope not.

Either way, I admire your work ethic. I try to act the same way as you mention. You must have gotten overlooked for the "entitlement " fan club too and decided to make a go at it on your own merits.

About a year and a half ago I needed 2 new tires for my car. I was pretty much flat broke so I went to Walmart auto service to get them. I figured, they have the same name brand tires as anyone else and they are a lot cheaper.
Get the new tires (on the front) get close to home when my car starts shaking. I'm thinking WTF is that? I pull over get out and realize they only tightened ONE lug. The wheel wasn't balanced (obviously) and the wobbling wheel caused it to break off one of the lug stems (or whatever they are called). The others nuts were there but I could move them with my bare hands!!

I called up Walmart bitching. They agreed to pay for the towing cost, it gets back to the "shop" and they then tell me that they can't fix the lug stem and it has to go somewhere else. The whole time the guy seemed like it wasn't a big deal and like it happens all the time. I told them that they are going to pay for it to be towed to the shop of my choice and the manager said they wouldn't pay for that and that they could fasten all the other lugs and it would be safe to drive to the other shop. This is technically true, but I was pissed.
Got the stem fixed, sent Walmart the bill and they put up a huge fight about not wanted or having to pay it.
    Fuckers!

They eventually did, but the bottom line is...when you get your tires changed or if anyone takes your wheels off...you really need to personally check the lugs yourself. It can cause all kinds of damage and potentially kill someone if they didn't tighten them right.

i remember sitting at a red light once and this tire comes flying by thru the intersection all on its own. That was but kinda funny in its randomness (no one was hurt) ---- I can't imagine seeing 2 huge truck tires flying by!!!!

wow. and fair play to you for your professional attitude by the way, you're dead right. head down and move on, no need to dwell on it, wont help you. i think we can all relate to the complaining co-workers you describe! so go on you for being the one that doesnt join in, life's too short. and dont dwell on this one either.

seeing as it was your first "incident" (for lack of a better word) you can take solace in the fact that you were fortunate/lucky/blessed enough that nobody was harmed. hope you aint too shook up by it.
