How to fix my couch?

Last night while trying to fix the hard drive my dog broke, for a moment I placed a clip lamp on the couch, but long enough to burn a hole in my couch. Here's the damage:

I'm thinking if I cut off the coarse burnt fabric and cover over the hole with fabric cut from the back and attach it with fabric glue that that will be the best I can do. Am I on the right track?

yeah, that looks like your best bet. You can also use "Stitch Witchery" - an iron on bonding strip that works well and sets up fast.

but with fabric that melted with a 65 watt lightbulb nearby, would an iron be a good thing? :)

put a cloth between the patch and the iron. And don't use the highest setting. Pass it over the area several times to make sure the bond is secure.

Gotcha. So it's a low-temperature heat activated bond? I wish this were a removable cushion...

I've used it several times, and have had no problems with it un-bonding over time. And there is no way to flip it over and hide it?

    good luck!

External hard drive. He fritzes out when he hears anything, so when someone made a sound (like opening a book, or clicking a pen) he ran and tangled his leg in the short wire between my laptop and my HD. ...so now, 7 years of data may be lost, but that's a whole other problem i've got. :(

If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?
