can't wait to see it! 8-)

julia roberts, clive owen....tom wilkinson, paul giamatti....total caper flick......looks awesome! the NY Times gave it rave reviews, which is rare.....and i personally love roberts and owen, think they are GREAt together....and adding in wilkinson and giamatti just ups the ante all the more. opened this past friday....plan to hit it up this weekend. i love a good caper flick, mixed with a bit of smoldering sex appeal...witty banter.....fantastic.

my gf and i saw it on sat nite...it was pretty good
too much to follow for a 10:05pm showtime but the acting was very stellar and not a single gun went off or death the entire movie which i really liked for a change...sorry to give that away but i thought that was quite unique

I saw an afternoon show after a late night out, which probably wasn't the best idea. Like the previous poster mentioned, there is a lot to follow. I really enjoyed it, though. Owen and Roberts have incredible chemistry.

good to know. i'll have no problem, i always am alert and pay close attention when i see a flick, hell i forked over $10 for the privilege to do so :P....but my husband shall be alerted to remain awake. :D in the NY Times review i read, they mentioned many layers...and also stellar storyline and performances, by all. It was good. Not great, but enjoyable. Saw it with my GF who really wanted to see it. I think it was designed very specifically to attempt to be appealing to both men and women equally which can dilute things.

...so, next film is "I Love You, Man" which is certified fresh on rotten tomatoes. :)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

i dunno....i find there are quite a few films that BOTH my husband and i love....tho sure, i hear ya on trying to be all things to all people. i'll let ya know next week if i thought it was great or merely good....but hell, even a GOOD caper flick with some smoldering sexual chemistry is a good deal. 8-)

i love you, man...is already on the netflix queue. :) even mr. dream wouldn't pay to see it in the theatre, but rental-worthy? sure. i think actually he would like to see sunshine cleaners....but mostly b/c emily blunt is his newest crush. :P

Again I think Duplicity was a quality good movie. But to keep things in perspective:

Duplicity = 66% on the tomatometer

I Love You, Man = 80% on the tomatometer (and is Certified Fresh!)

for me, i find the NY Times a better barometer of MY personal film tastes....and they gave it an A, whereas a lot of other reviewers gave it a B, which is still good. so yes, personal tastes definitely come into it. either way, i am happy to see even a few people here thinking it's solidly good. :)

i really liked it....but yes, didn't love it. it really was so good, but not great. tis odd too, b/c it had all the elements of 'great' but somehow didn't deliver greatness. excellent cast, great dialogue, loved how it was filmed both visually and in support of the story......solidly good. LOVED the ending!

oooooooooo and saw a lot of cool previews for films soon to be released, looking very promising! really can't remember em all, but both hubby and i sat there and said 'ooohhh that look's good' a few times for a few previews. will say, johnny depp as john dilinger with marion cottillard and christian bale looks AWESOME.
