I walk by something like this and have to take a picture.
If you're a "tool" for simply snapping a quick picture of a found object, what does that say about someone who fixes a situation to fit his PJ-influenced worldview?

A few weeks ago I was doing my Saturday work thing, which often involves wandering around college campuses killing time while the training session I'm supposedly facilitating is in session. On this particular Saturday I was at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ, a place that had held no significance for me -- until something happened to catch my eye.

To many, what I came upon was nothing but an example of low-level graffiti marring an ordinary sign outside an equally ordinary classroom. To others, many of whom are members of this forum, it might be viewed as a sign of another kind. The two words aligned vertically in the top right corner were already there when I came upon the scene. The masking tape is my doing. (Why masking tape? My WWED Magic 8-Ball said that Eddie would disapprove of yet another act of low-level vandalism.)

Ha, I forgot about this one. It was taken at the Tampa airport in January of this year. We are all insane.

lol, not sure I would have taken a picture, but I know that I would have had the same first thought as you if I walked by that on the street :)

  • It really is nice to know that someone else is as obsessed as I am. I mean I love being able to have support when my girlfriend tells me I'm crazy. She already told me that when we get married, if I'm famous and friends with Pearl Jam that they are not allowed to come to the wedding because I would be more excited about them being at my wedding.....and I can't deny that in the slightest. haha

Don't feel too bad. I drive by an old graveyard on my way to work everyday. In it, there's a big old headstone that reads "Stone".

Before I leave this job I'm going to HAVE to stop and take a picture of it just because I see it everyday (!) and it is marble evidence that Mr. Gossard is not the only person in the world with this unusual name.
    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&
  • I'd have taken a photo of that

There's a place called Stone actually, on the way from ours to Helen's and Evolutionary's seperate houses... I'm yet to have my picture taken by the signpost :geek:

Ohhhhh!!! I just remembered!! I went on holiday with a few old PJ peeps last summer and had my picture taken outside a jewellers called STONE!!! :ugeek:

I'll dig out the picture when I can get on the book of face  (no access at work... doh!)
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

These are the best kind of threads....

My favorite quote about the Ten Reissue came from one of my good friends. He does not really keep in tune with the current music scene but has loved PJ from day 1. He texted me "Why did Pearl Jam re-release Ten? To celebrate being awesome?"
    Good evening...

LOL! I guess I am tool too because in the law firm that I work in we have a client called Even Fall (it's a business) and my co-worker and I always call it the Even Flow Restaurant. Every time either one of us works on the file we start singing "Even Flow". By accident I once called the file Even Flow instead of Even Fall while talking to the attorney and he was like "what?" and I was like "Oh, I'm sorry...that's a Pearl Jam song".

Haha.. in Haverhill, right? I seriously live about a quarter of a mile from that restaurant. Never eaten there, but I chuckle at it every time I fill up at the Irving next door.

Yes, it is in Haverhill! Wow, I guess it is a small world!

I was at my girlfriend's grandfather's funeral last week and when I exited my car at the cemetery, the stone facing me read "Ledbetter"
