Best Buy has the Ten deluxe reissue almost $5 cheaper??WTF
Call me crazy, but shouldnt we get a better price than the public.
I can pick it up on tuesday at best buy, and the one i ordered from 10 club still hasnt been delivered.
Best Buy also offers more for the buck..i wont know for sure til i get the 10 club delivery.

Isnt it $15 cheaper? Ithought TC was $140?

BTW - Deepdiscount.com has it for $123.98 with free shipping AND no tax unless you're in IL I think - even better.

You're crazy. Why should we get a better price than the public? I don't think 10c has had the best price on anything they have sold, since I've been around, but people always show up to complain like they have.

I don't think we should pay more than the public. But it's not that upsetting or surprising to me that a megahuge chain store is charging $10-15 less. The only "deals" we get on here are the 10c exclusives and the occasional extra nugget tossed in. Very seldom are they offering the best price.

I have said this before........ I purchase from the 10C not for the price but because I choose to support the band and the staff behind the band.

Retailers such as Best Buy offer deals on items every week to get customers in the door. Most times these items are sold at /below margin because they are banking on the customers to purchase other items along with it. Items customers would not have ventured into their store for without seeing such "deals".

So if a cost difference of $5 or so is that important to you then just go buy it at another retailer. Why do you feel the need to complain about it here? Nowhere in our membership benefits has it ever mentioned that we are entitled to the lowest prices on merchandise.

If money is that tight then maybe you should re evaluate your purchase.

Damn straight. Alot of people on here act like all the money from 10c purchases goes to PJ. I would guess that they make about the same amount regardless of where it's sold.

I understand the argument about supporting 10c, to keep it goin, but I think, for no more than the 10c actually does, the $20 per year/member will keep them afloat.

I don't think that's so true for a Pearl Jam re-release. I think there are always 2-3 items that are front page to get people in the door (such as brand new blockbuster DVDs, top 40 CDs, etc), but regardless... if you think the 10C is paying as much to sell their own product as Best Buy I'm just not buying it. I know 10C never says they are going to have the lowest price, but usually they give away some cool items with their sales which close the gap which clearly was not happening this time around.

I'm not mad that they charge what they charge - I wish they had an option to cancel after everyone else comes in cheaper, but that's not the end of the world. And if I cared about Rockband I'd be annoyed that BB is cheaper and has three bonus items but luckily for me I don't. :geek:

Maybe 10C will partner with Orbitz in the future to offer price assurance.

One thing to consider about the pricing available at Best Buy, Deep Discount, Amazon, etc. versus Ten Club with respect to the "Ten" reissue is that these retailers likely negotiated favorable pricing terms with Sony BMG. Remember, Sony is going to be involved with all of the reissues of the albums released through Epic.

With that said, I am not sure how much leverage Ten Club has over Sony BMG relating to pricing, etc.

It is also in the band's best interest for retailers to charge a lower price for the reissues compare to Ten Club for the simple reason that many retailers will advertise the reissues in their sales circulars, online, etc. These promotional dollars need to factored in as well. Lower prices should translate into higher sales for retailers. Sales volume is very important for items that may have relatively low profit margins (especially during first week discounted prices).

I can understand if some people are upset about the pricing discrepancies. Overall, I think Ten Club is terrific and folks need to cut them some slack.

It would be nice if there was something special about purchasing an item via Ten Club that is also available through traditional retailers. They did it with the super deluxe edition of "Ten" (chance for signed copies), but it would be cool if they did it with the other versions as well. Even something silly like a limited edition decal, a pin, a t-shirt, etc. Hopefully this can be considered going forward.

It would be cool to add something like that. That stuff would add cost and probably wouldn't convince many people to buy it beyond the people already purchasing it.
