    Well i could have said 50%, seeing Jimmy and Billy were basically the force and Darcy was 0% but its unfair on James not giving him a percent, he makes some brilliant sounds and i dont know how he played but he really made the old pumpkins magic.

    well this is the nail in the coffin for me... w/ out jimmy i pretty much consider SP a Billy Corgan solo project... too bad he can't get his head out of his ass.

    :cry:

    SP = magic
    Zwan = great
    Billy's solo album = torture

    im done with him... i was wondering how long it would take for this to happen... i defended the "new" pumpkins because they still put on a great show when i saw them... but without jimmy its officially over... billys just such a fuckin prick... what a waste of talent

    Live SP: 20%, they had a keyboardist who OD'd in the 90's

    But studio SP, which has pretty much always been only Corgan and Chamberlain: down to 50%

    First off, although I think Jimmy was an important part of the Pumpkins, it wasn't because he was the world's best drummer. He has a distinctive style that the Pumpkin's fans have grown to love. As much as I'd hate to see him leave, he won't be that hard to replace.

    I think at this point Billy can stop calling them the Smashing Pumpkins though. It's time to give up the name Billy. Call it the Billy Corgan Experience, or UberZwan, or whatever, but it's no longer the Pumpkins when you're the only one left.

    Maybe Jimmy can form a supergroup with Chris Cornell and a few guitarists. The world needs another supergroup.

    I have to respectfully disagree with that. Jimmy Chamberlin is definitely one of the best drummers, ever. He will be VERY hard to replace.

    You can replace a lead guitar, a bass guitar and a drummer i. e . Jack Irons, but it’s almost impossible to replace a lead singer, The Pumpkins will be just fine, with Billy Corrigan at the helm. Just as Sammy Hagar, or Ozzy Osbourne have done; the voice makes the band, it's an instrument that can't be copied. Every once and a great while a band will pull it off, take for instances AC/DC, they replaced the late Bon Scott with Brian Johnson and became a better band i.e. "Back in Black" This is just my opinion. If anyone can think of another band who has replaced a front man and went on to be successful, let us know. ;)

    iron maidens a good example of a successful singer swap...

    regardless... billy is a dick... it would just make sense for him to retire the name... the only musical genius great enough to swap out an entire band and keep the same name is trent reznor with NIN... trent is NIN... billy is only a part of SP... IMO
