I am confused I hear everyone talking about unplugged and how they want it officialy released, and after hearing a Mike, in an interview he was saying that the fan's also wanted it released. I am amazed that the fans cry's actully was heard by Mike, and PJ decided to officialy release it. My question why? Am I the only PJ fan that watched MTV unplugged? or the thousand times they replayed it? and I also have Oceans and RITFW that WAS played on MTV. My point is out of all the shows that PJ did we really wanted this one offcialy released? Shit give me PEARL JAM FIRST SHOW ON DVD, MSG 98 2ND SHOW, or Switzerland when they first played acoustic.....I can name a thousand others, but really? We really wanted unplugged? Please this is not a complaint so don't flame on me just my opinion and when my boxset arrives on Monday, I will watch unplugged on DVD cleaned up......although my VHS tape still has some kickin quality to it. I think I am the only person NOT to have unplugged with the counter on the bottom. Once again this is not a complaint just opinion.

Be nice

They only played two shows at MSG in 1998. Weird that I am have been reverted back to my old board name.

There is a big difference in saying that "the fans really wanted this one released" and saying "of all the shows we have played this is the one that the fans wanted released the most."

i've always wanted this as a release and i'm excited. it'll probably be the 1st thing i reach for monday when i get my box. it does suck that the whole show isn't on there but i'll take what i can get. my favorite concert dvd is alice in chains unplugged and now finally it may have some competition. i just love the uplugged stuff.

I've not seen video footage of MSG 98, but I know the official audio exists.

However, I would agree with Mike. It's been mentioned time after time about this show in particular. ...but I wish they did not edit the vocals and the playlist.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

unplugged is in a small studio in an intimate atmosphere, PROFESSIONALLY shot. and it was early in the bands career, the first time they'd done anything like that. MSG 98 is a one camera bootleg. is this really a discussion?

We don't know that..... how do you know the band didn't record it? A lot of you didn't know about the 1995 video shot by the band.....Just saying I am sure in the PJ VAULT they have other shows that could have been released, not something that was aired on MTV a gazillion times. I just hope people don't start asking for ALIVE, EVENFLOW, JEREMY released on DVD.

According to the outside of the box set, this set covers 1990-1992. Unplugged is more than likely the most requested release from that time period. Who knows what gems will get released in later sets. Hopefully the Vitalogy set will include "The Movie." You'll have to wait for the Yield set to see if MSG is there. ;)

Ummmmmm , maybe I'm missing something here , but isn't Unplugged entirely Ten related? Seems along with "The Petition" , the re-issue is why we get it now?

If a dvd is to be a part of future re-issues then it would relate to that particular album?

It really is a great documentary. The concert footage is GOLD, especially the Aussie shows. The NW speech is a classic too.

It doesn't matter, I'll always have my VHS copy to watch, just gotta dig out the VCR from the bottom of the closet to do so. :D I need to do a B&P to finally upgrade it to DVD. ;)
