Bought a turntable...

From a second hand store, got to my sisters place as my brother in law has an amp and awesome speakers and I don't. It works fine except the pitch won't work properly to increase it it slows down and is very sensitive.
So dissapointed, I have to return it and get my $$$ back.
The quest to find a good turntable, amp, speakers to begin my vinyl collection continue.
Btw, I had to buy a record to be able to test the turntable, went to a great record store in town and no Pearl Jam so I bought Nirvana Bleach, awesome!

Anyone else have this problem with pitch?

    The refurbished one I just bought from my local record shop was an 80's technics and it has a pitch control to increase or decrease the speed. You'll probably want one like that. I know they have more, but you're probably not here in Richmond, VA.

    Yep that is what I am after.
    I don't trust the one I bought, even when you set it to normal speed it will suddenly go fast or slow.
    Brand new are so expensive.

    Finally got one that works.
    Swapped the faulty one for the same model and the pitch is working well.
    Now I need to get vinyl!
    Also bought an amp to run it and Jensen speakers! The guy done me a great deal!

    Still getting used to vinyl, I find it hard to get the stylus at the start of the record, I go either too far into the song or the stylus slips off the vinyl because I put it too close to the edge, but when you try put it on the first song the arm moves by itself back away from the vinyl, might be the weight?
