By the end of this record, it will be 130. I like the idea of being able to play four nights in one place and not playing the same song twice.

No way. I was under the impression that Even Flow is a rarity and that I was just lucky enough to hear it at all of the 10 shows I've gone to over the years. Oh well. I'm still one of the lucky few that can say they've heard Corduroy live (more than once!!).

This is why I was a little disappointed with the three SF shows in 2006. They were great shows, don't get me wrong, but I'm know there were a lot of people like me who went to all three. I'm not saying they had to play "Goat" or some other super rare song. But all three nights they played: Even Flow, Alive, Life Wasted, Severed Hand, World Wide Suicide, Wasted Reprise, Yellow Ledbetter). I think it would have been nice to throw in Wishlist, Elderly Woman, Black, etc.

Again they were great shows (the first show was my favorite concert I've ever been to), that's my only complaint mainly stemming from the fact I have seen them now eight times going back to 1993 and I still have not seen them perform Black. I thought for certain I would get it seeing them three nights in one city.

Ok.... so here is a list of the most commonly played Pearl Jam songs at a show. I have three %'s. First is % of times played since album, then % out of ALL shows (so a song like WWS which is played almost at every show is only at 13% of total shows. And finally the most important one IMO, % since 1st played. This shows how often the boys play a song since its been in rotation. Now with all that said I don't think I updated this for the last East Coast mini tour, so some of the Avocado songs might be inflated.

Song (% since album) % Total Shows % since 1st Played

    World Wide Suicide - (91%) 13% 93.5
    Severed Hand - (83%) 11% 84.9
    Do The Evolution - (84%) 44% 83.7
    Corduroy - (83%) 53% 79.6
    Even Flow - (85%) 85% 79.1
    Given To Fly - (76%) 39% 75.2
    Life Wasted - (69%) 10% 71
    Daughter - (75%) 53% 70
    Alive - (74%) 74% 69.1
    Better Man - (77%) 49% 65.2
    Rear View Mirror - (64%) 46% 61.5
    Save You - (58%) 19% 59.6
    Animal - (62%) 44% 59.1
    Jeremy - (57%) 57% 55
    Black - (58%) 58% 54
    Porch - (55%) 55% 51.6
    Elderly Woman - (54%) 38% 51.3

P.S. I can't remember, but some of the Ten songs probably suffered because there was incomplete data, or no data, from some of the shows from 1991 to 1994ish, so they perhaps should be higher? Don't remember if I adjusted for this. :?

hes saying he likes the idea that he can do 4 nights in a row without playing the same song twice....

in other words 4*30(songs played in once concert)=120

I doubt they will do this for the tour alot, maybe for one occasion but i doubt they will do it often.

For a band not wanting to play the same song twice they do that alot. I think they could mix up GTF, DTE, Corduroy, Even Flow, Alive, RITFW and Yellow Ledbetter more then they do.

Now probarly everyone here will bash me. But yeah... don't see why they can't spread them out some more when they have so many great songs.

I see your point even though I think they do a great job (better than 99% of bands) at mixing it up. Remember, they have to appeal to the casual fans, not just the diehards. If I were a casual fan who only knew the 8-12 songs played on the radio, I probably wouldn't say it was a great show if I didn't hear at least one song I recognized.

Agreed. In 1998 at my second show I would have been less happy if they hadn't played Corduroy, RVM, Animal, Daughter, Wishlist, Crazy Mary, Last Kiss, Jeremy, Even Flow, Alive, Elderly Woman, Black, Do the Evolution, and Given to Fly.

That show was so kick ass I can't even describe how much fun I had (luckily we all know already). If I could have one complaint and I didn't, it would be that they didn't play Porch and Go.

Now the above mentioned songs have ALL been at the top of my list as my favorite songs at one time or another. I love them all, or loved them all (please retire Last Kiss lol). But nothing would make me happier than to not hear any of those songs over the course of my next 5-10 shows. Not that I don't love them, but I love all of their stuff and most of it doesn't get enough love.

So with all that said, it will never happen. Pearl Jam is so kick ass they take care of ALL their fans. I'm in the small minority, I'm sure, who would rather hear Wash, Education, Pilate, Light Years, and Red Mosquito.(not on the board, but in general at a show).

So I have to "endure" ;) Even Flow every night. Luckily that is like having to "endure" chocolate ice cream for dessert.
