Logistics to NYC
My husband and I are coming to the northeast for the first time. Needless to say, we know nothing about the subways, trains, etc. I've been looking at the Metro north train (someone told me this would be the best way) to get from New Haven, CT to NYC. Does anyone have an idea on how much it would cost? Ballpark figures will work. We are staying in Mystic so we'll have to drive to New Haven and leave the rental car. Will there be a safe place to leave the car? We'll be leaving it there for 2 nights since we have a hotel in NYC the nights of the concerts. we just don't want to mess with a car in NYC since there is really no need for it.
Any help you fellow jammers would be great!

basically, be sure you buy your tickets ahead of time, and not once you're already onboard. It'll save you some money.
enjoy NYC!
a round trip ticket for "off peak hours" (I think 10am to 3pm, something like that) is $28
the parking garage at union station in new haven is $8 a night, and there is usually only a problem getting a spot on the weekends
just don't sit next to one of the bathrooms on the train and you will be ok
