Lou Dobbs attacks St. Patrick’s Day: ‘How about an American day?’

Yesterday on his radio show, anti-immigrant crusader Lou Dobbs attacked St. Patrick’s day as a needless “ethnic holiday.” “How about an American day,” he proposed. He also wondered whether other groups, like Jews or Asians, had “ethnic holidays,” but he couldn’t think of any:

Is there a Jewish ethnic holiday? Is there one? No. Okay. … How about an Asian ethnic holiday? Is there one? You know, St. Jing-Tao-Wow?

......
So now its the Irish. I guess Lou Dumbo forgot about

a) that whole jewish Chanukan holiday
b) that whole Chinese New Years holiday
c) that whole National Cherry Blossom Festival held in DC each year to celebrate a tree given to us by Japan.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

Lou Dobbs is just trying to fill a very specific niche in the crowded Talk Radio Blowhard market... angry, immigrant hating xenophobe... to cater to the angry, immigrant hating xenophobes.
    To be 'American'... is what?
Besides... I love the Irish... especially them red-headed Irish lassies.

Actually I've been wondering about this. Since you have to be a paid 10Club member to post now, what right to they have to ban anyone? You're paying for it!

And if they do ban you, do you get a partial refund of your membership fee, or are you banned from the club, IE no chance to buy concert tickets.

Must have been a slow news day for Lou. Its not like its even an official holiday. People who want to have fun with it, do, and those who don't, ignore it (kinda the way I feel about most holidays anyway).

  • Everyday is St. Patrick's Day for me. :D

What what?! When did this happen? At the same time I had to change my username so that it didn't have an apostrophe? 'Cause you know, that wasn't a pain in the ass or anything... *cough*

Anyway, screw Lou Dobbs, nobody listens to him, most white Americans are of Irish descent, andd we have like three America-focused holidays (Thanksgiving, 4th of July, and Memorial Day).
