I am currently listening drunk and loving every minute but I'm curious. My job keeps me from experiencing any other forms of inebriation besides alcohol. Is there an appreciable difference between alcohol and other ellicite substances when it comes to enjoying the music? Nothing crazy I'm just wondering- if you're high is it just amazing or about the same?

  • I prefer the faster stuff when I'm drunk and the slower stuff when I'm high. It's all good on mushrooms.

  • Red wine and vicodin. So, I guess I'm drunk AND high when I listen to music.

    Hmm.

Hail Hail is pretty groovy to sing to at a house party when intoxicated. A group of friends and I love singing it anyways.

The whole Immagine in Cornice DVD is wicked when high. My first viewing of it, I was high as a kite. MY GOOD GOD. When the buddies did the little acoustic intro to Porch then PH hit in with Even Flow....I went apeshit!
  • Everything is better when you're high...

Marijuana makes all music sound much better; from classical music to pearl jam. but in particular I'd say it enhances rock music that has lush orchestrations (Strawberry Fields Forever), organs and/or synthesizers (The Doors, Pink Floyd), and obviously, wailing guitars (Hendrix, etc.)

Well it's drunk for me, because I don't really partake of anything else anymore. But I'm just as happy to go with sober. Pearl Jam can make you fly all on their own so they don't really need enhancement. :)

What I wanna know Mr Tenzing Norgay is how come you picked such a cool user name. :)
    NOPE!!!

  • Thanks Jeanie. I chose that name because Tenzing was the guy hauling all the gear and doing all the work. Plus he was the guide! He was down in the trenches when all the glory went to someone else. I like the unknown/unsung hero.

So it sounds like I'm missing out. Oh well- I'll stick to the libations and enjoy. It's interesting to see that drunk seems to favor fast while high seems to favor slow to mid-speed.

You're welcome! I think he's a remarkable human being and you're right, he was the unsung hero of the climb. An amazing fellow! And a very excellent user name you've chosen, which tickles me immensely. :) So thank you! :)

im surprised by that tendency towards fast songs when drunk....i usually prefer a song like Black or NAIS stuck in my head when im drunk....each to their own!!

i gota try that "into the wild stoned on a walk to a beach experience" sounds cool!
  • I like listening to Vitalogy while doing lines of coke off of a stippers ass.

If that's not available I'll just smoke a bowl and listen to a boot.

    That's fucking funny.
  • I don't do it much, but I was getting stoned with my brother this weekend... But he hates Pearl Jam so I didn't get a chance to experiment, sorry.
