 was cleaning up my room last night and came across receipts to concerts that were cancelled / i couldnt go to - it made for some depressing reading to see them all together!!! anyone else had that? off the top of my head there were receipts for:

*Cancelled* - David Bowie 2004, Venice 2007 (Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Killers), Prince last year

*Missed* - System Of A Down, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Gutter Twins, Radiohead, Damien Rice, NIN & Foos, Dr Dog, Wilco, Jimmy Cake, Saul Williams, Hot Chip, The Melvins, Meat Puppets, Loaded, Decemberists, Explosions In The Sky, BellX1 at the Point, Stereolab, Neil Young acoustic show Vicar st 2003...and Electric Picnic 08 (Parliament, My Bloody Valentine, Grace Jones, Sex Pistols etc). Damn. i paid to see all that shit and didnt get to!!

i go to a lot of concerts so ive seen some great stuff to offset those missed ones, and i know everyone misses some, but FFFUCK! thats some amount of them from just a few years, it kinda surprised me. does god hate me? (more realistically it was probably due to college mostly, lol. )

anyway, share ur horrible, and still painful memories of stuff you've missed!

Neil Young.. a long, long time ago. Going with friends, we were a tiny bit high :? . I had my ticket in my back pocket. It must have fallen out because when I got to the venue, I couldn't find it. Listened to the concert through the side doors

It was just a bit of pot and I really don't think it was the reason I lost my ticket!

Yep, I have seen him since 8-)

Missed night 2 of a recent show... and supposedly the 'better' night too. At the time there was no question that missing it was the best thing... Now... Um...??

I missed that one PJ show in Grand Rapids where they mixed up the seating and people within my number range got front row seats. I only live a couple hours away and went to a closer show the next night and found out about it. YEP, never will get over it!

The Ramones. I had tickets but was underage (didn't realize you had to be 18 to get in), and didn't see them. I'll carry this regret to my grave.

Joe Strummer & the mescaleros (2002)

It was a god damn shame, tickets went on sale and later the concerts were cancelled, worthless to say that not much time after Sandman and Strummer died :(
I feel very close to you all now; so close I could almost... loan you money. Really. it goes that deep.

that's a stunning amount of shows you bought tickets for but missed!

I guess i'm lucky. I've only missed a Jane's Addiction show because it was canceled, and half of the Pearl Jam show in Hartford last year because of the Ten Club ticket line debacle.

Bowie had a trapped nerve, so fair enough...but Prince had no excuse. there was uproar when he cancelled at last minute...there were accusations that the concert organiser had known for months that he wasnt playing but hadnt announced it so theyd profit on the interest of the 90,000 €100 tickets before refunding them...Prince never made an announcement at anytime to clear it up, the whole thing was bananas :D

Dublins pretty good for concerts, theres always something on. Having college projects & exams with short notice accounted for most of those i had to miss, having bought them months in advance usually. my own fault!

    Strummer, Ramones, Jane's....comiserations!!

i've never missed a concert nor had one cancelled...tho death cab at mccarren park pool SHOULD have been cancelled b/c it was cut short due to torrential rain/wind. i've even seen a concert at jones beach during a hurricane :D...hahaha...obviously, it was a mild one - if there is such a thing - and it was a GREAT show! i understand if someone dies or something - or you have an accident or illness, that's totally unexpected, but otherwise...i can't imagine WHY you'd miss a show, unless of course, cancelled......?
