Well I remember hearing that the VS album was originally going to be called 5 against 1. At the last minute, the record company made them change it because it promoted violence or something. So they went w/Vs.
Not sure about No Code or Yield though.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

My interpretations based on my understanding and what I've read:

VS: 5 (the band) against 1 (the world), some have also interpreted it as 5 (Stone, Jeff, Mike and whoever drums for Pearl Jam and Kelly Curtis) against 1 (Eddie Vedder), because of how Eddie felt at the time, but to me that sounds very unlikely.

Yield: Yield to nature. Think Do The Evolution. Think Given To Fly. About respecting and loving nature, and about mankind vs nature.

No Code: Everything about the concept of No Code is in code. The lyrics are veiled and deep, hiding a greater story. They have a basic meaning, and a deeper more substantial meaning. The booklet and the cover are filled with codes. Even the title is a code. It's saying no code, as if to hide that in fact that it's in code.
