I know most of you despise Hannity but i was watching and saw this segment and Donahue really plugged Ed's participation in this DVD and the work he did with the music, it caught me off guard that he mentioned them but yet was nice he gave Ed credit

Donahue seemed really passionate about Body of War and even Hannity liked the dvd and gave a shout out to Thomas Young

I just heard the news about the passing of Phil Donahue.
What a wonderful human he was, and how lucky was I that I got to know him a little bit. Phil Donahue wrote the foreword to my book about Tomas Young, and participated in the book launch event in New York City in May 2016. Phil lived in NYC but was in Boston for another commitment that week. He flew in just for my event. We stood backstage before the event - me, Phil and Eddie Vedder - and Phil suggested that we let the audience drive the discussion and ask questions. Well of course he would say that - he was Phil Donahue, talk show pioneer!

He took us all - me and family, Tomas’s family and friends - out to lunch afterwards. It was raining so he had all the ladies ride in his SUV, while he and the rest of us walked several blocks to the restaurant. He was 80 at that time. Then he paid for everyone’s lunch.
Phil had visited Tomas at Walter Reed hospital back in 2004 with his friend Ralph Nader. Phil was deeply affected by Tomas’s story and from that point forward was a close friend and staunch supporter of Tomas. He made the film ‘Body of War’ about him. He did countless things for Tomas out of the goodness of his heart that were never disclosed publicly.
He was so kind to me, humble and genuine, completely without ego. I still have one of his voice mails saved on my phone.

A wonderful, selfless man - what an example he set.
