I just saw P.O.S. cover "Why Go" on MTV2, and it was really cool. I wonder what anyone else thought of it, and if anyone has seen it on the internet yet. I can't find it on You Tube yet. Please post a link if you see it.

  • Yes, that is P.O.S.. I made an assumption that people knew who he was because I forgot that he is a local artist to me here in Minneapolis. We have a great public radio station here, 89.3 The Current, and they mix it up quite a bit, so I forgot he is much more well known around here. But the thing was on MTV2, so he must be getting some play nationally. Anyway, it was really cool. Just him and his little keyboard machine and a beat. If you get a chance to see it, check it out. The show was called, "You Rock The Deuce". Here is a link to P.O.S.'s record label too.

It's a good thing you posted that myspace link. I thought this thread was about P.O.D.!... I almost puked.
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut

I thought it was going to be about "piece of shit covers" i.e. people covering songs badly... glad we cleared it up :D
  • You really should probably see it before you deem it a piece of shit.

I didn't call it a piece of shit! P.O.S is internet slang for "Piece of Shit", and so when I read the title of the thread I thought it said "Piece of Shit Covers "Why Go". I'm sure the cover is great :)

Maybe they should re-think the name...
It's sort of like if you were a Chinese guy and your name was Suk Dong and you were moving to the U.S. for a job... you should really check out your name against the local slang and change your name to Tom Slick, or something.

Sorry I misunderstood you. I'm not that up on the internet slang. My first thought the first time I saw P.O.S. was "Point Of Sale". Anyway, it was one of the more interesting covers I've seen. I'm not a big hip-hop guy in general, but this guy is pretty good. He was in a punk band before. I also have been digging on Atmosphere, who is on the same label, and from Minneapolis as well.

And once again, there it is! Thank you very much. Just posted today I see. Leave it to Pearl Jam fans to hook a brother up. Fantastic.
By the way, how fired up is everyone to get their super deluxe Ten reissue package. I'm going nuts waiting for it.

Dear lord NO! I hate that station. And it pisses me off that everyone else seems to have such a hard-on for that station.

Anyway....continue on with you're conversation, nothing to see here.

That was Good. Fully enjoyed that one.

I haven't listened to a whole lot of P.O.S. Stu42, but do recommend other artists from Rhymesayers such as Atmosphere and Brother Ali.

Go get his 2nd album, "Audition." His newest "Never Better" isn't bad either.

Finally watched this - I liked it a lot. He has a good voice and gives respect to the song.

Yeah that's a tight cover for sure. Atmosphere has been around Eau Claire, Wisconsin (where I'm from) once in a while. MSP has a pretty decent, and diverse, music scene.
And shut it Thorns, The Current is great. 8-);)
