Am I alone in thinking this is without a doubt the absolute best television series ever created?

I watched it when it was first on (in HD) and was blown away. I then got it on Blu-ray and still pop it in all the time.
It's on right now on Discovery-HD and while I've seen that "episode" a few times, I'm still absolutely amazed.

Awesome!

I always watch it too. I turned it on during the Birds of Paradise part. That part is funny. :)

This is an awesome set. I pop in my blu-rays of it pretty regularly.

Like everyone else who posted so far, I still throw in the blu rays every so often. Great series, wish there were more episodes.

I really enjoyed the behind the scenes stuff. Just incredible to see the time, work, and dedication they put into making it. So yeah, I can see how it cost a small fortune to make.

It's incredible and fascinating...I learned so much and thought that the time put into making it was amazing. the only thing I didn't like was Susan Sarandon as the narrator (it was her, right?)

I must have watched the shark coming out of the water 20 times!!

forgot about those, yeh wasnt it incredible? and it makes you realize there's a lot more going on around than what we see in our daily lives. a real eye-opener.

i actually kind of liked susan sarandon as the narrator, she had a soothing voice. if that bothered you, though, in the dvds i bought it's a british guy narrating, who also has a soothing voice. win-win situation really. and yes, this was the best television series ever. no contest

Actually I believe the TV version was narrated by Sigourney Weaver

    Love this series!

    From IMDB:

-The project took 40 camera teams shooting at over 200 different locations all over the world for more than five years.

-For the air shots, a special airborne camera was used with a 400mm lens that was able to zoom into single animals from a kilometer away without disturbing them. ( that's incredible!)

-Sigourney Weaver provides the narration for the US version.

-The narrator for the British version is David Attenbourough

It's sigourney weaver... and I like her voice better than david attenborough ,at first I thought I bought something different, but I agree with everyone else the whole series is mind blowing I only wish high school would have been that intresting

That was a superb series. I have yet to pick up the dvds. I remember seeing it on an HDTV and was blown away.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

Ah! yes--Sigourney Weaver...I just knew Susan Sarandon wasn't right :-) I don't know what it was, maybe I was more bored than soothed...half the time SHE sounded bored. I love David Attenborough (sp)...always a favorite!
