HELP!

Does anyone know anything about external hard drives. I fear that mine may have become corrupted and I will lose some of very treasured items. It won't let me copy files onto it. This is devastating I could lose all my music and pictures from the last 7 - 8 years.

    Its giving me read/write errors

    Your best bet is to call a computer shop to see if they can get in and pull the files from it. Always back stuff up on 2 externals just in case one fails. It may seem like overkill until you have these moments.

    I'm not sure if they can pull of an external, if it was an internal it could be done. I've had a few fail on me and was able to save files.

    Try to stay away from Geek Squad or Nerd Herd or whatever they are. They will fuck you if they can. My buddy had a single piece of Spyware on his computer and they wanted to reformat the hard drive for $180. I took his machine and fixed it in 10 minutes by downloading a free Spyware removal program.

    lol I just bought one last night (Western Digital 250gb) am currently copying all my music to it.
    It's been 4 hours and it is only almost half way done.
    But then again I got a slow USB port, 7 year old computer....
