Does anyone here have plants at their work? I work in a small cubicle and it's depressing as hell. I wanted to get a green leafy plant but have no luck with plants. Ive had plants and I managed to kill them. Anyone have any recommendations? :) I work in a closed off cubicle and don't get direct sunlight.

yea get a little banzai tree. you don't have to worry about watering it as much as a regular plant and it looks really cool

Try a bamboo plant you just need water. I had this plant when I worked in an office and it did great there, I think it's the lighting, and it's suppose to bring you good luck to boot ;)

    Good Luck :D ttyl

I'm out of work right now but my last job I was in the awfullest little cubicle. :( I swear I have never worked in such a depressing spot. I was always trying to make it more pleasant but it never occurred to me that I could have grown a plant there with no window nearby. I'll remember these suggestions if I get stuck in a place like that again.

I tried putting up lots of pictures and I had some origami birds that I strung across the top. For some reason my co-workers really liked that. It was different at least.

I've managed to kill bamboo... And a bonsi tree... The only thing I haven't killed has been a phildendron (spelling?!). I forget about them then they droop, you add water and they perk up. I've had 4 for 3 years now and I by no means 'take care' of them but they managed to survive :)

No it's not, you just feed them every two or three days and filter their water like once a month.

Just don't put two males together or a male and female. ;)

Go with something fake. All you'll have to do is dust it once in a while.

I have a spider plant that was in my office when I arrived. It was dead. I kept watering it and giving it Starbucks. It's a healthy beast now and is taking over. I've since cut back it's caffeine intake.

The plant obviously was born . . . uh, germinated on the island. :D

try a spider plant or a snake plant.

either of which are pretty hard to kill
    and don't need much light.

orchids seem to thrive in offices too.
just add three ice cubes a week to the pot and thats all the care they really need.
    Nice shirt.

I have lots of plants in my office, I suggest for no natural light a Pothos. They are so easy to care for and live forever.
