In Memory of Michael J. Horucy.

PJ fans lost a good one 2 weeks ago. Affectionately known to his close friends as "Hooch", Michael J. Horucy
was the biggest Pearl Jam fan I've known. When Hooch was a kid he beat leukemia but complications later in life from the intensive chemotherapy resulted in him needing a liver transplant in 2008. As often happens, the liver didn't take well and ultimately led to his death on February 24, 2009.
There are reasons that I share this with you. You see, they say it so many times but it's so true. Life is short.
Sometimes it ends much sooner than we'd like. Hooch was in his thirties. We are all PJ fans, so we care a little
differently than the mainstream. We go against the grain, love not hate and lead rather than follow.
If any of you ever feel generous and would like to donate in memory of the biggest Pearl Jam fan, please
consider the Cleveland Clinic where my friend passed away.
I am hoping there's a slim chance that one of the members of PJ might catch a glimpse of this and remember to dedicate a song to one of their fallen, the next time they play our hometown of Buffalo, NY.
May God bless Michael J. Horucy and may he forever rest in peace beneath the garden of stone ...

Like the people above said when Pearl Jam tours and plays in your town maybe you could get someone to deliver the message and they could play a song for him.

Thanks.
...In the Episcopal Church...they say, "Light perpetual shine upon them..." I often look for some type of comfort in that.
Truly sorry for your loss.
Also being in my 30s, this one hit a little close to home. Life is too short sometimes.
I gotta keep this one going.
Just in case there's a chance ...

shatter scarlet rows then pierce beneath
a steep curtain of crowded violet light
Below, a clutch of fervent creamy waves
swell toward the sullen misty shore
and in the distance collapse, to sketch the temper
fresh upon the anxious vacant day...
Thanks for sharing your story...I am sure it was difficult.
Take care.
