Yes. thanks for posting, but god-damn, Cornell's lucky to have a sound after this last disc...yeah he was there when Ed stepped in for the ToTD vocals on Hunger Strike, but seriously, dude needs to recognize that they were more than a sound at that point...they were gonna outlast he & his band...
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!

He's not allowed to speak of anything Pearl Jam unless he cleans up his act and stops talking to that guy Timbaland.

yeah for real. I'm not one to judge someone's career moves but I cannot feel or get into Scream at all. I think there's 1 hidden non-R&B hip hop song at the end of the record but it's co-written w/ John Mayer?!? What happened to you Mr. Cornell?...

Less than a year and half ago, I saw (with some hesitation) Chris Cornell live. And man, did he rock. I always thought his voice had gotten suckier as time went on, but he nailed it. The man could still wail and could still sing. 2 1/2 hours, mix of Soundgarden, Audioslave, solo (and Hunger Strike & Pushin' Forward Back too). It was definitely a bit of an "alt-grunge revue" with a bunch of young guys with cool haircuts imitating Kim Thayill et al, but it was pretty damn rockin' and something I'd recommend to friends.

But then he started this fuckin' electronic bullshit thing with Timbaland...and his credibility in my eyes dropped...LIKE A STONE. A big fuckin' heavy stone. What a bunch of lame shit.

Anyway, decent little interview. He's probably pissed they only talked about the mighty Pearl Jam and not his cool Sexy-back new album.

I saw him live a little over a year ago and I totally agree. He was absolutely amazing live!!!! I was expecting his voice to be lacking big time going into the show as well, but man, he did not disappoint. It seriously was one of the best concerts I have seen. No joking. If you have a chance to see him live, I highly recommend it. Although, i must agree, im not sure about his new material. But when I saw him, the Soundgarden, Audioslave and his old material was great.

"It was weird, because Seattle went from this era where you couldn't find a good singer if you went to every single show seven days a week, to seeing Layne Staley do one-take demos for five songs in a row that were all incredible album takes, and seeing Eddie's debut. I was shocked by the first Nirvana demo I'd heard, which was before Bleach! Mark Lanegan was another guy. All these unique voices were starting to appear and no one sounded remotely similar to the other guy."

Thats a nice compliment to the guys (Ed/Layne/Lanegan/Kurt), fair play to him for that.

its funny, Cornell was a bit of a role model for a lot of these seattle guys, and here he is now. what kind of people will be inspired by Scream? the wrong kind.

ah well. he'll come back around. its just a phase
