Onstage or backstage at one of our favorite band's local concert (a pretty well-known band)?

Having the singer propose for me from the stage?

At a show in the UK?

On the tube in the UK? (would have to hope that no one tries to steal the rock afterwards!)

Are these ideas too flashy, or not private enough?

    Thanks!

hope she's not reading this thread... but seriously congratulations joe.

I dunno... I'd LOVE to be proposed to at a PJ concert... especially if Ed did it  although I'd probably accept Ed's proposal and run off  JK

Congrats, JOE! I'm excited for you!!!!!!!!!!

It is still in the planning stages, and it is obviously up to her to say "yes", but thanks!
    :)
weren't you planning on doing a bit of travelling in the UK? I'm sure you'll find somewhere nice and secluded and romantic (a hilltop or a river or something stupid like that  ) where the moment's just right and then take the ring out!

Yes, that would certainly be ideal...;)

I suggest NOT performing a public proposal. I know you may not wanna hear it but what if she says no? :?

At a concert is great if you really know your girlfriend though! The high just before, after or even during would be perfect - just make sure it's only between the two of you and don't make her the centre of everyone's attention. All eyes will be on her and she may not want that pressure.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Well, the more I think about it, perhaps a public proposal may be a bit much, so I think I have narrowed it down to:

Some sort of boat on the Thames

    or

Privately propose backstage at a show by one of our favorite bands. I hopefully will be able to get the band to surprise her and congratulate us after she says yes (hopefully!)

My crazy brain also came up with a few other ideas.....post an advert in the tube station, and then have a busker sing us a song.

When will you be in London. Somewhere that is a tiny bit public but not on the same scale as some of those mentioned is the top of St Paul's Cathedral. Has some of the most amazing views of London and if you have walked all the way up is quite some reward!

The Golden Gallery which is the highest gallery and where you go outside is closed for renovation until the end of April though. Even if you don't want to propose there I'd definitely recommend giving it a visit! ;) Think last entry to the galleries is around 15.30
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

We will be there Apr 29 thru May 8, and are gonna go to Manchester sometime between those dates as well.

Thanks for the advice re: St. Pauls...that sounds like a good idea!

We've already overloaded ourselves with gigs planned every night, but we will have plenty of time to knock about during the day.

the boat trip on the Thames IS lovely and quite romantic... even though I was with a female friend  if you get one when it's just getting dark and wait til all the lights come on and it's really pretty.
