    I am hoping it is a week from today that the emails start going out that the packages are shipping.

    i'd like to see if people can remember the first time they heard or even heard OF the band... what friend tipped you off to them? what's the first song you heard? maybe we can make a 10 question survey to be answered by people, and posted to share?

    i'll try hashing over some ideas and send to you later today or tomorrow... we have 5 days to get it right. : )

    I attended summer camp, and one year, I had this terrible staff member, who did nothing but listen to music. Most of it was bad, but there was one song he played over and over and over, that I eventually developed quite a passion for. I didn't know it at the time, but it was Do The Evolution. I searched endlessly for the album it was off of, but had no idea it was even Pearl Jam. About a year later, I decided I'd buy this "rearviewmirror" album I saw in a record store, which I believe was a new release at the time, by some band called Pearl Jam. I thought there was some good stuff on it (including DTE, which I was psyched to hear), but that was about it. A year later, I found out Pearl Jam was coming to Toronto, and I asked my dad if he could help me get tickets. Lucky me - turns out he was able to ask a favour of a business associate and get me in a box! That show was the beginning of my addiction. I think over the next two months I bought every album, signed up for 10C, downloaded the show I was at, and started collecting live shows. Going to that show sparked it all for me - nothing beats a good live show, and the energy at a Pearl Jam concert, as I've tried to explain to numerous people since, is intense and phenominal. The high I got from just being in that venue was what got me hooked.

    I gotta say, there is definitely an energy to a PJ show that isn't there for a lot of bands... I think a big part of it is the fans, I have never felt the same sense of community with other band's fans...

    Be sure to watch out for our 10 question survey appearing in 5 days or so.... I guess it'll have to post on Sat. since that is 10 days before the big (re)release!!!

    I just had a really funny thought... Vedder should change the lyric to "re-release me!!!" for the first few shows after the re-release. That'd be funny... I think.

    Of course, then we'd get a bunch of people arguing on this board about how they can't believe Eddie sold out and changed the lyrics just to support the label's re-release.... :twisted:
