Live On Two Legs

Having been a Pearl Jam fan since the release of Yield, Live on Two Legs is a cornerstone to my Pearl Jam collection. I just dug it out after a couple years of neglect, and I have to say, the versions of "Corduroy", "Given To Fly", and "Off He Goes" are the best I've heard. The speed they're played at, Ed's voice, and the precision of the band to have a shitload of energy while keeping things slow just amazes me. Anyone else feel this away about these tracks?

It's so refreshing to hear the songs be played at their actual speed... g2f is played so fast these days, like they can't wait to get it over with.
  • ...and how about that Mike solo in THAT version Black. Top 5 best ever McCready moments on a guitar right there.

Off He Goes blew me away the first time I played it.
I couldn't help turning the volume up loud.

LO2L is amazing. I dust it off every once and a while and am amazed at how good things sound.

Strange. I don’t like this album at all. Eddie’s voice in Corduroy is horrible. Its just too produced for me, and after hearing the Euro bootlegs, this hardly ever
    got a spin again.

    Nice artwork though

The music on Live on two legs is some of the best quality live performances of Pearl Jam period. The fact that Matt had just joined the band shows how much of a professional the guy is to get all those Pearl Jam songs down perfect.

In 1998 I saw Pearl Jam live at MSG I (September 10th), even though I missed Breath (although the signs were everywhere) and they had some technical difficulties (and Stone forgetting a Solo during All those Yesterdays) it was one of the best sounding Pearl Jam concerts I've ever attended. The songs that did not have any technical issues were so good, and the sound quality of the equipment they were using just blew me away.

The 1998 and 2003 tours in particular were amazing to attend live, their production, equipment, sound etc.. were the best of anytime I've seen the band. And it shows though on the bootlegs.

I just loaded this on my new Ipod- forgot how good it sounds.

Plus it shows there are some amazing recordings of all the shows from this tour, if they ever release the 1998 bootleg series. Hopefully.

Does anyone have a list of what shows the LO2L songs were taken from? I remember seeing something like that years ago (maybe on TFT) but now I can't find it...

    thanks

    u fuckers!! :D

this is gonna rock on the way to work tomorrow!!!
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

Every song on there is the best sounding version ever. I wish the band always sounded just like that record.

This was a great record from an even better tour. I really think Pearl Jam in September 98 was the best they ever sounded, especially the MSG and Mansfield shows. Corduroy was the only song I thought they could have done much better.

DTE is also mixed. If you listen to the Inglewood version all the vocals after the solo are different. I don't know why as they sound great on the Inglewood boot!
