Makes more sense than Interpol headlining 2 years ago... what the fuck was up with that?

Interpol was awesome two years ago....I'm glad I chose them over Muse (which was the hardest decision from that Lolla for me).

They're a good band, but I can name maybe 2 people that even know who they are. KoL, love them or hate them, is huge at the moment. Interpol has never been huge... they've been respected and an appreciated indie band... but they don't have "major headliner" written all over them. That's all I'm saying. I like them, it just seemed an odd choice for a headliner.

Muse is usually awesome live, but that seemed to be an off night for them.

Last year was good, but a little fall off from 2007, this year is a total fall off. Kings of Leon headlining? When they were at their best in 2007 they were a middle tier band playing before MMJ and Pearl Jam.

I still think 2007 will not be topped:
    Pearl Jam
    MMJ
    TV on the Radio
    Amy Winehouse
    The Black Keys
    Kings of Leon
    LCD Soundsystem
    Interpol
    Ben Harper
    Spoon
    Muse
    Modest Mouse
    Silversun Pickups

last year was severly top heavy, but still good. But I don't know if Kings of Leon will bring people from other parts of the country to drop $350 on a pass

That was a damn good lineup that year. My only regret is seeing Ben Harper over Daft Punk... I will be kicking myself for that one for the rest of my life.

Last year was pretty top heavy. The year before PJ played actually had a weak headlining lineup, but a fantastic middle band stretch.

This year looks interesting, I'll be curious to see who else plays. I'm not sure I'll be in town for it this year so I want to hold out to see if it's worth the trip back to town.

I usually make it out to Chicago for the weekend. I think it's an awesome time. But I just don't see them selling many passes in this economy. I mean, their core audience is college grads that probably just got laid off, or college grads that can't find a job. Basically, their target is a group of people that, for the most part, doesn't have any money. This is why they have Depeche Mode and the Beastie Boys headlining, they want the 30(even 40) somethings this year and not the mid 20 somethings.

Well at least you'll representin NYC proper!

Ill wait for the lineup, but those headliners and the fact that the cubs are out of town, make it unlikely I will go.

I swear I was on there the whole day and never saw any icon or anything, and then all of a sudden the banner announced they were all sold out. Shenanigans I tell you.

I'll hopefully get mine on the 31st, and yeah, I don't mind some retro either...I've been supporting newer acts like crazy, I don't mind contributing to some pension plans too lol.
