Love the new album. Is anyone buying their dvd set of neverender. Got to be one of the best live
bands out there.

    am I missing something? Been a member for 10 years. This is the other music forum? Is this band not suppose to be talked about, if so, I will change the subject. Is pearl jam against this band? Sorry guys, your gonna have to let me in on whats going on.

    I just remember you and didn't expect to see you here. I can't wait to see what you come up with every week... you have a fascinating knack for inventing reasons to make new Coheed threads.

    there was this complete dipshit near the end of the old board who would make a coheed and cambria thread every day, if not multiple times a day. he wouldnt let it go. it actually ruined the board for me for a while.

    his name was musicfanpearl, i believe. not a name i shall "soon forget".

    It is. Look at the posts by 'unkown'... 2 threads started about Coheed, both about the dvd set, the first one identical to a thread transferred from the old board. He somehow survived the transition.

    not familiar with the old board to be quite honest with you. Your right, I do have 2 threads about coheed. It won't happen again. Didn't realize there was that much bad blood about it. The last thing I want to do is start problems on this board. Heres a question that you guys may be able to help me with, when do we get this years christmas single. i still have not received one. For the record, I am not musicfanearl

    That promo is sweet. Really like this band. They ring something very different to the table with each album, kind of remind me of pearl jam in that sense. Also love the fact that they tour relentlessly. I think people should check them out.... they are a lot better than the kings of leon which everyone seems to like around here.

    I probably wouldn't have gotten into Coheed if some of it's member's weren't from my general area... Back around the time they formed I was into a lot of other band's on Equal Vision Records (which is based in my hometown of Hudson, NY) and they'd play shows every now and then with other EVR artists... I remember seeing them when they were called Shabutie in crowds of 200+ people and a lot of people not liking them at all... They just had this very bizarre feel to them, especially with Claudio's huge hair and high-pitched voice... and they didn't seem to fit in with the other bands they'd play with... but I thought they were quite unique and they're really the only band from EVR that I still listen to today... It's really great to see them evolve into what they've become... they're all really nice in person and I'm extremely happy for their success... I just always hated that they got grouped in with emo bands... because they're really not... their songs are about an epic sci-fi story for god sake lol.

    I got the box set too and it is phenomenal. I got the autograph print as well. These guys are the nicest people. For as big as of band as they are, they still come out and visit after ever show with their fans. They are definitely not emo. The packaging of the box set is what impressed me. I wish pearl jam would do something like this. I still haven't figured out the entire story, and I wish someone could summarize it for me. They are just so damn good musically. Highlights from the box set are:



    1. Everything Evil
    2. Final Cut
    3. The End Complete
    4. In Keeping Secrets
    5 Delirium Trigger

    Yeah the story can get tricky, it's definately convoluted but http://www.cobaltandcalcium.com/story/ is a great source for it... that's not really really official but it's close... until anything official comes out to go along w/ IKSSE:3 people just have to kind of guess what happened there.

    The whole first disc of the set is just amazing, it's been so long since i've heard a majority of those songs live... especially 33, I think I heard that once back in 2001 or 2002 and that was it... and i had never heard IRO-bot live, so that was awesome... the end of Final Cut is amazing too... really glad they picked up Chris Pennie for a drummer, I do miss Josh though.

    One thing that is funny to me is how they are so polarizing, I've found people either love them or they hate them... they're extremely fun so I don't know why people hate them other than maybe Claudio's voice which I guess I can understand.

    Its nice to meet someone on this board who "gets Coheed and Cambria". There seems to be a lot of backlash on this board about this band. Your right, they are very polarizing. I don't think you can get a real feel for this band until you see them live. My god, the energy they bring is ridiculous. I have seen them open for stp, shinedown, and linkin park and they always blow them out of the water. I met Chris Pennie and he is loving playing with Claudio and the guys. your right, that final cut was sick! This is by far the best concert dvd release I have ever seen. Stephen Flow, how would you compare their live performance compared to Pearl Jam? Both very different styles, but if I had to choose this moment, I think I would choose Coheed!
