How many shows have you been to in a row, night after night?

There is a cool blog, www.100bandsin100days.com, a guy is trying to see 100 bands in one hundred straight days. A pretty intense schedule. Sounds like he got sick. He is on day 34 I think.

I volunteer at a music venue, and last october, I went to 11 straight nights of music. I not only went to these shows straight after working a 8 hour work shift, but then i would also work 3 or 4 hours at the venue. I saw some of the best shows I have ever seen in my life, Monotonix, Silver Jews, and so on...

It was the greatest 11 days of my life, but by the end I got sick, most likely from a lack of sleep.

So what is your personal record for such a thing?

I personally would love to do 100 shows in 100 days like the guy on the blog is doing, but as I said, I felt sick by night 11 of my record, so I can only imagine going on for 89 more nights. Unreal! But I am sure he is having the time of his life.

I feel like kind of a wimp. I've only done 3 I think

That sounds pretty cool though. I'll have to check out the site later.

I think 4 nights in a row, and 7 out of 10 nights (with 6 being PJ).

You know now that I think about it, 100 shows in 100 nights is crazy. I don't even like to go to festivals b/c they wear me out. I don't think I could keep up with this guy.

I think 2. I've seen PJ back-to-back 3 times. One weekend I saw Brand New and Hold Steady back-to-back. This spring I'll see the Tragically Hip and NIN back-to-back. Even that wears me out. I don't think I could go much more than that.

Unless you count festivals... 3 days in a row of Lollapalooza with PJ at the Vic right before. That was a marathon, 4 straight nights (and 3 days) of music.

I don't know...maybe 15, 16, 17?? Either way, after doing my little tours, I always have an even deeper respect for a band that does it for 70 or so shows  !!

not more than 3 or so... I would have absolutely no desire to even attempt 100 shows in a row... I'd probably either fall asleep or shoot someone about 8 shows in.

    7, and 9 out of 11.

    I'd do it again.

  • I think only 3 or 4 nights in a row but I saw Pearl Jam 12 times in 18 days in 2006, thats not too bad I think. Also last April I think I saw 4 shows in 6 days.

3 Nights at a time is the most I can manage with work - and that's when I go to Lolla. Other than that, its usually 2 nights at a time - have done that with NIN and PJ.
