There's not too many places where you can plan to go snowboarding, and then change your mind at the last second and go to the beach for fish n' chips and a sunset instead.

such was my day on Monday :)

What's something cool about where you live?

Last March (a year ago) I went skiing during the day, drove back home that night and hung out by the pool.

Arizona is really and outdoor person's playground. So many things to do within a two hour drive.

    Bozeman, MT.

Monday-Rode half day @ Bridger Bowl. Then, Fly fished the Madison river till sunset. Finally, Ice skated @ an outdoor rink till about 10pm... All within 45 min of my house.

I'm not lying about my location... ;)

Members of Sonic Youth live here.
    Great music scene.

Five colleges (UMASS, Mt. Holyoke, Smith, Amherst and Hampshire) within a few miles.
Plenty of farmland and open space outside town.
Great museums, restaurants, brew pubs, art galleries etc.
Very seldom run into instances of conspicuous consumption.

Hmm...I can think of a lot of bad things, but here goes with the good things:
Outside a big city, but far enough away to be in country.
    Next to a Cider Mill.
    Madonna grew up here.
Eminem lives about 2 miles away.
    Very quaint town.
Expensive area, but I don't have to pay what most pay to live here!!
Many lakes nearby, (within walking or biking distance too)
Live in what used to be a state park, very woodsy, with trails and lots of wildlife.
Lots of shopping a mile away.
I am still thinking. I know I love it here. My particular area is like living in a resort area. Reminds me of camping, but with all amenities.
    Save room for dessert!

WACO, TX: Not much to see here.....

Waco museums feature the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum, the Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute, and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Yes, that's right...a Dr. Pepper museum. (In 1885, the soft drink Dr Pepper was invented in Waco at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store) It was pretty interesting, actually. the TX Sports HOF is pretty cool.

    from Wikipedia:

-In 1978, bones were discovered emerging from the mud at the confluence of the Brazos River and the Bosque River. Subsequent excavations revealed that the bones were 68,000 years old and belonged to a species of mammoth. Eventually, the remains of at least 24 mammoths, one camel, and one large cat were found at the site, making it one of the largest findings of its kind in the world. Scholars have puzzled over why such a large herd had been killed all at once. The site is currently being looked at by the National Park Service for possible inclusion on the National Park system. They are conducting a special resource study to be presented to Congress.

-On February 28, 1993 there was a shoot out in which six Davidians and four agents of the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) died. After 51 days on April 19, 1993 a standoff between FBI agents and Branch Davidians ended in a fire that destroyed their compound located in Mt. Carmel, near Waco. Seventy-four people, including leader David Koresh, died in the blaze.

-Rock guitarist and outdoorsman Ted Nugent, who is an enthusiastic bowhunter, resides in Waco and writes a weekly column for the Waco Tribune-Herald. He filmed his MTV show "Surviving Nugent" on his ranch in nearby China Spring, Texas.

-On June 20, 1930, the first night baseball game in Texas League history was played at Katy Park in Waco. The lights were generously donated by Waco resident, Charles Redding Turner who owned a local farm team for recruits to the Chicago Cubs.

-Lance Berkman, born in Waco, is a Major League Baseball player for the Houston Astros. 8-) (go 'stros!)

-LaDainian Tomlinson, NFL football player for the San Diego Chargers; born in Rosebud, grew up in Waco, and went to University High School. He was the NFL MVP in 2006.

-Thomas Harris, author of The Silence of the Lambs, was a student at Baylor University, and covered the police beat for the Waco Tribune-Herald.

-Born in Waco: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Shannon Elizabeth, Peri Gilpin (Roz from Frasier), Steve Martin.

I know...Some of those people get a free concert view. I bet it blew there mind when Pearl Jam showed up. Doesn't look like that place gets too many geniune rock shows.

Change "beach" to "lake" and I can do either in under an hour.

Plus, everything is open all night.

Still, I can't wait to get away from this fucking hole!

depends on who you ask... Charleston SC ~ There are a lot of beautiful historic homes in the city and several different plantations you can visit . Magnolia Gardens is really cool if you are into nature. If you like American history then Charleston is a place you would like. The first shot of the civil war was fired here. The USS Hunley is also on display. We have some of the best restaurants in the country according to R.W. Apple. He was a food critic for the NY times before he died. I could go on and on. The facts of the matter are there's a lot to do here and it's a great place to live :D

I love Windsor!! I live across the border and used to cross over twice a week. I haven't been over, except once for a concert, since 911. Anybody who has ever went over with me are always amazed at how easily I find my way around. Its easy for me, not because of many trips over, but cuz Canadian cities pretty much are set up the same. I love the freedoms, the way stores sell exactly what they are suppose to, like beer stores are for beer, the history, and how evident their close ties to Britian is.
Recently, they made a law that women can walk around topless. And, you can see the Detroit skyline so beutifully, especially at night.
