    There is no such a thing as "too much Pearl Jam". Tell that guy to get over himself and appreciate what you do for him: expose him to good music :)
    I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...

    lmao. THAT's funny. My older brother went like this once "I mean FUCK, I get it.. you like the music, SHIT even I liked the music way before you.... but let's tone it down to 3 albums a day, and maybe 1 live show."

    EXACT words ^^

    I can see your coworkers point so I think just to be courteous you should switch it up and play Into The Wild every once in a while...

    my old roommate complained a lot about it. i was gearing up for the 2000 tour and listening to a fair amount of PJ. he kept complaining & complaining. he didn't like most rock/alternative music. so, one day i borrowed my then-girlfriends britney spears cd & started playing it over and over and over and...you get the point.

    it pushed my roommate to the limit after about 3 days. he walked into my room, took the cd out and stepped on it until it was smashed up into little bits. he was happy to hear Pearl Jam after that. 8-)
    I LOVE MUSIC.

    as much as i really do love the band, i believe in the idea of too much of a good thing.... i have over a hundred PJ cd's, several dvd's and videos, the Edddie Vedder bathsoap, etc. .... i usually find that if i put them away for a week or so, i appreciate them much more. if i listen to them too much, i start to criticize Eddie for flubbing lyrics live, criticize Matt for occasionally playing the tempos too fast, etc.

    on the flip side, my band performed "why go" live for the first time last night @ the fineline in minneapolis... it went pretty well.... though i have to listen to the tape yet... the tape never lies. anyway, i don't know if i can ever get sick of that song.....

    Agreed! I used to sit next to a girl who listened to crappy bubblegum pop all day long. I'm sure she loved it as much as you/we love Pearl Jam, but that doesn't mean other people want to hear it all day!

    I bring Pearl Jam cds to work everyday and I listen to either one of their albums or one of the hundreds of bootlegs that I own. I have the sound on low so that I do not disturb my co-workers but it makes my day at work go by a lot faster and it brings a smile to my face to listen to PJ. :D They bring out the best in me!

    Yes, you can. People that have an ipod with nothing on it but live PJ bootlegs need professional help. I can't even listen to the whole Gorge box at once. If I worked next to you, I'd want to kill you too. There are a lot of great bands out there man, open up a bit!

    I can listen to my ipod all day at work which makes the day go by a ton faster, but that leads to an overdose of PJ at times. Sometimes I'll take a day or two off and try to mix it up. I've been listening to a lot of Zeppelin bootlegs lately, which are pretty amazing. But I'll always come back to PJ if I'm ever having a shitty day.

    It's like that myth, or something! "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!"
    Truth be told "An album spin of Pearl Jam a day, keeps the mind at peace ok!"
    Or something! But you get the picture! ;)
  • yeah, you can get pretty burnt out on anything if you listen to it too much, usually around a tour I will listen to a lot more of it then I do normally, there is just so much great music out there and I can't be narrow minded. I know some people who are like "all pearl jam, all the time." they never turn it off, you can't even have a conversation with them without them trying to guide it back to PJ at some point, its rather annoying.

    That being said I am listening to Pearl Jam for the first time in about a month right now and its great, I had a jones for No Code.

    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);
    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    Studio releases, yes! I rarely ever listen to those.

    But there are endless bootleg shows to discover each week!

    That's gonna be my retirement plan when I'm 65. Sitting around in my cheap polyester pants and listen to PJ boots all day! Hopefully before I die I have listened to every single show they played.

    You know you listen to a lot of PJ when you put your Ipod on shuffle and you hear like 5 PJ songs to 1 song by another band. This happens to me quite often.

    Seriously. I've got over 200 different artists on my iPod and I'd love nothing more than to double that number. I can't imagine listening to any one band ALL THE TIME.

    Trust me, people think I'm a crazy, obsessed music fan (and they're right), but at least I've done my best to spread my obsession over a range of artists.

    I agree. After seeing Ed solo last April, I was so burned out on PJ that I took it all off my ipod for a couple of months.

    It comes and goes for me. I won't listen to PJ for months at a time, then all of a sudden it's all I want to listen to. Like now. :D I'm also jonesing for a tour, and I've found that coming here just feeds the fever!

  • I go on a PJ listening freeze about a month before I see them on tour...that way when I hear it all again live it's that much more of a kick...

    for the 2008 tour, I also refused to come to the board so that I would be surprised by the setlists, and boy was I ever...I highly recommend it...
