Ugh. I fear that this one is gonna suck ass too, like T3. It looks good, but most movies do in their trailers. If the studio had any brains and/or cojones they would pay James Cameron a shitload of money to get him out of hiding, give him any budget he wanted with full creative control and sit back and watch him make a sci-fi classic.

I am hoping this will wipe the bad taste of T3 from my mouth.

Cameron is currently working on Avatar. Sounds interesting from what I have read so far.

i read somewhere that Christian Bale initially refused to do the movie unless it was re-written to have a decent story. hopefully they did a decent job with the adjustments.

here is what i found on a quick wiki search

"Christian Bale as John Connor: A young soldier waging war against Skynet after it destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust, who is destined to become humanity's leader. Director McG deemed Bale "the most credible action star in the world" during development.[5] Bale was the first person to be cast and signed on for the role in November 2007. McG talked extensively with Bale in the UK about the role while the latter was filming The Dark Knight, and they both agreed to proceed.[7] Although a fan of the Terminator series, he was at first uninterested, until McG convinced him the story would be character-based and not rely on special effects.[5] They kept working on the story every day, along with Worthington.[8] McG said Bale broke his hand punching a Terminator prop during filming.[1] Bale also spent six to eight hours each day with McG in the editing room to advise the finished product."

Wow. Sounds like Bale is just a control freak and if McG was not just a guy that cut his teeth directing fuckin' Blink 182 videos he would probably be pissed.

I saw it opening night....I liked it. T2 is still the best ever IMO. But this one was still solid. Bale wasn't as good as I thought he could have been as John Conner. Can't wait for the next one.

was anyone else really disappointed with this movie??

i mean, i didnt go into it with HUGE expectations... but STILL... that was the script rewrite that bale demanded?!? lots of plot holes and the character development was shit... i wont give anything away but maybe someone else can weigh in on this without spoilers

definitely some cool parts... just thought it could be better

I saw it yesterday, and I have to agree- a bit disappointed with it. The action was good- it was fast paced. Interesting continuation to the Terminator story line, but Christian Bale was just not good- very stiff and it seemed like he was trying too hard. I thought that Sam Worthington did a really good job, more convincing.

    I would give it a 6/10.

Not impressed. Do we really need two more Terminator movies? It's so nice that they can stretch this new story into three parts by putting as much action as possible in it. Most of it was way over the top. And I love how John Conner basically has a super-human body.

bale seriously already signed on for 2 more?? there was no reason they couldnt have just made the skynet in the movie the main and only skynet HQ and it could be over... fuckin stupid

every old school terminator fan ive talked to has hated it... not as bad as indiana jones 4 or star wars episode 3... but still

obviously theyre trying to appeal to the same stupid twats that are gonna go see transformers 2... so i guess theres a market
