magic bus??

hi all. i'm wondering, has anyone been to see the christopher mccandless's magic bus in alaska? my sister and i are going this summer, and i've found it on google earth, but i wonder how far of a hike it is from the road to the site. help?
i know someday you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky...but why can't it be mine?

    I haven't been, but I believe it is a pretty good hike. There's also a river to cross.

    There is a vid on YouTube where the guy in it says you need to take an ATV to get to it because of the thick brush. It only takes like a minute on an ATV in the video.

    Had this thought just yesterday acuallty. I wondered if its become a tourist attraction and if an easier way has been found to get to it.
    I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!

    i'm pretty sure i read that they removed it because they don't want people going up there for that purpose. i'm gonna look for the article.

    thanks for all the replies. i hadn't heard that they removed it, it doesn't seem like something alaskans would do, but then they don't think of him in the best way. i'll ask my sister if she's heard any chatter, she lives in anchorage so maybe.....i really hope not.
    also, i heard there is a tram a couple of miles downriver to cross.
