howdy-

i'm looking to frame my EV batman poster, and i wanted to ask if any of you who did the same used americanframe.com. and if so, which color mats did you use? i was thinking of going with 2 mats: the top black, the bottom... well i don't know. i can't seem to match up a good color.

have any of you used americanframe for that poster and if so, what color mats did you use??

thanks!

I have mine framed with my ticket on the bottom- a small cut-out in the mat, but I chose a grey for my mat color- I pulled from the grey in the poster...with a black metal frame...I love it.... :D

Love the idea of 2 mat colors- the orange works well- but blue would be cool under black too!

I would of got the blue, but there wasn't a metallic blue mat, and another blue didn't look very good. But the orange is the same colour as the road. I'm happy

I just got mine back about 2 weeks ago. I chose a thick black wood frame and gray mat that matches the color in the poster. However, when I went to get it it turns out that the only way to not cover up the "Klausen/Vedder" tag at the bottom was to double mat it, so the framing place did a second black mat for free. I love it, looks great.

thanks for the responses guys. i kind of wanted to go with a blue mat, but none of the blues on americanframe's site seemed to match well (although it's hard to tell online).

pjfan31 - your orange looks cool. is that an AF job? if so, do you remember the name of that color?

Nah its I just got it done in a shop here in Sydney. The name of that colour is um... Orange.... Don't know the specific name, but just check it up against the orange in your the poster. It is exactly that colour.

I'd stay away from American Frame. Maybe you've used them before and had better luck, but the times I've used them have been nightmarish. They do have a cool site where you can upload your print and play with a variety of mattes and frames but be sure you are measuring correctly when matting -- I didn't pay close enough attention so that one I guess, shame on me. I found the quality of their stuff to be pretty good -- if they had it in stock. I had to change multiple matte selections and one frame cause they ran out and weren't getting any more in the near future. Then, I had multiple orders ship incomplete and when I called their customer service, it was like pulling teeth to get any resolution. After multiple confrontations and communications via phone and email -- and weeks of waiting, I finally got it all resolved. Sucks too cause I really wanted them to be as good as advertised. This was a few years ago so maybe they got their shit together but I haven't used them since and don't intend to in the future.

Like funnygirl, I went with a grey color (dark olive if you're looking at the colors for Crescent Berkshire mattes) for the matte and a black metal frame from American Frame. I love it. Unfortunately, I don't have a ticket stub to go with it since I wasn't at the show... :(
