The Lottery Can Be GOOD and "BAD."

Wow, I haven't been on this site for a looooong time. In fact, I live in KC, am a college student and am way to poor right now to even afford to go to a Pearl Jam concert outside of my good ol' city. THAT MEANS that I did NOT see them for their BEST album (Pear Jam, self-titled) this last tour...

Here is what I see:

THE BAD: If you have been paying 10C memberships for 10 years now, like myself, it is EASY to see why SOME are "upset" about losing 3-10 rows in ticket/seat "quality." To just say we are "upset" for a stupid reason, kind of goes against what 10C has been telling us for years now...that our money will be going toward "better seats."

THE GOOD: Based on what I have read, some of us are over-reacting, not realizing it is OUR fellow 10C FRIENDS that will be lucky enough to see my other "friends," Pearl Jam, in the front row! HOW COOL IS THAT! It's kind of like being a socialist. "I don't mind paying for something, even if my FRIEND obtains something for free, etc."

Please, in these times, let's all just get along...and maybe someday, you will be watching your friends in the front row. Yes, it may never happen...so until THEN, be HAPPY FOR YOUR FRIENDS!!!

I definitely agree with this statement. Those members who have been paying for years should get the benefits that they are entitled to, and should rightly have access to seats based on seniority. The only complaint I have with this, especially in case, is the younger crowd might not have been privey to the early 10C numbers. Including some lottery seats along with the seniority seats would work really well. There are also chances for anyone to get those really good seats, for example, I waited the 3 hours at Bonnaroo to get into the pit for PJ and got 3rd row for the show. Having chances like that available for anyone gives a reason to keep seniority, but also have some form of a lottery in place for some seats.

And by 3-10 you mean 4. Also 10c, manages to get way more "fan club" seats than any other fanclub, so count your blessings. If I'm in row 14 or 18, what do I really care? If you care about 4 rows its pretty damn petty.

I think the lottery is an excellent compromise.. as mentioned above, the people who have been promised benefits by renewing every year - deserve those promises kept. However, I was born in 1990. For people like me, the lottery is such a great thing. Even if I never win, knowing that other people in similar situations as me will be up near the front rocking out courtesy of 10C is just as exciting to me. One thing that I think could be changed is rather than do first two rows and rows nine and ten lottery style - what about doing alternating pairs lottery style between, say, rows one and eight, to match the volume of seats they did lottery style last tour, while still not hurting the really really old 10C members (speaking in terms of membership length, not age ). Just a thought.

They should keep the lottery because it gives all Ten Club members a chance to sit up front. I know with my Ten Club Member I will never be able to buy good seats winning the lottery is my only chance to sit up front. It would not be fair if they took that away from us.
