Well...that time of year is upon us again. T-minus 48 hours and counting. Who is getting moved? Who are buying and who is sellin'? Big names possibly on the move...LeCavlier, Tkachuk, Pronger, Guerin, Kovalev, Backstrom.

    Kovalev isn't on the block.
Lecavalier isn't, either, or Backstrom...where'd you get these names??? Eklund??

Edit - I know where you got Lecavalier's name, but that ain't happenin...

Ha! No. Not Ecklund. I take everything that man says with a grain of salt. I don't believe Backstrom will get moved. I don't care enough about Kovalev, but I think that Lecavlier COULD be moved. Anything out of Tampa wouldn't shock me at all.

I'm excited this year.. I have the day off, so I'll be sitting in front of the NHL network all day.

It is always interesting to see who can make the most boneheaded move(s).

Does TSN stream online for the deadline?

Yeah, I'm always interested in my Penguins moves, but it's just fun watching for the good, the bad and the ugly.

I think the Pens won the boneheaded move of the deadline last year. That Hossa rental didn't work out so well and you gave up some damn fine young players.

Ah, well you will be interested to know that you might not unload any of your guys (Tkachuk(spelling..)) with a potential playoff appearance on the horizon.

I'll disagree with that... Hossa got us to the finals, and all we really gave up that was any value was the (late) first round pick. If Esposito pans out it could look lopsided, but his stock seems to keep dropping.

You appear to be correct. There's been a lot of talk about a possible return of Chris Pronger, but I would be against that. Right now the Blues have a fantastic looking future with all of their prospects. Trading any of them for a player like Pronger would go against everything that's been in plan the last several seasons. Now, if we could somehow find a team to eat Jay McKee's salary...then there might be talk for Pronger (say at the draft), but I think we'll have a pretty boring deadline.

Just heard Doug McLean on the radio in Toronto saying that the Leafs and Jackets were discussing a deal involving Pascal Leclaire.

I'm crossing my fingers that the Flyers pull off a trade that lands them JBo. Rumors seem to be Lupul, Carle, and a pick for him, and it'd be a steal.

I kinda hope the Canucks stand pat. But then again, I fear change. :|

There'll be something else too, but now it seems plausible that Bowmeister will stay put.

Yes, despite the staggeringly dull Lemaire system, they've sold out every damn game in their existence. It's a good thing they locked up Backstrom, 'cause you know they aren't gonna score more than 2 goals per game ever.

Now, what about poor Josh Harding? Hmmm. That's a move I wanna see the Flyers make. And it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, or much of a cap hit. I wonder if Homer trolls here. ;)

columbus is actually sixth with 70 points, two points ahead of eighth-place. as for ottawa, if anything it's another goalie into the mix of rebuilding to compete with brian elliott
